-
Dinosaur isn’t gut-busting funny, but its humor is purely character-driven, and it gives a view of autism that we’ve rarely seen on TV.
-
The show sometimes skips too lightly through potentially deeper moments that could have lent it more grit and substance. Still, it has a cracking ensemble (including David Carlyle, Ben Rufus Green and Sabrina Sandhu), a script stuffed with irreverence and mischief, and an acid-witted, stereotype-busting gem in Nina.
-
Nina’s autism powers a lot of the comedy and drama, but the challenges she faces don’t define her, and her character isn’t merely a cipher for the condition: she is funny and spiky and openhearted in ways that have nothing to do with being autistic.
