    This show is garbage. The writing is poor and filled with stilted and clichéd dialogue that sounds like it was taken directly from some brain dead Zoomer’s Twitter feed. There are plot holes so large you could fly a C10 through them. Emily Deschanel isn’t a terrible actress, but she also isn’t talented enough to carry this train wreck. The teen actors are just meh.     Devil In Ohio is a perfectly serviceable show that should keep audiences entertained for eight episodes. But at times it feels like something that’s a bit too slick and a bit too uncomplicated for a show that’s about a cult victim that ruins lives, especially a show for Netflix.

    It’s so schlockily unembarrassed by its excesses and its shortcomings alike that it feels difficult to critique. ... Its endgame is bleak in a way that seemed like a satisfyingly tidy reversal of the suburban clichés in which the show trafficked previously. But you have to wade through a great deal to get to that endpoint, much of it entertaining for reasons that can’t have been intended.

    "Devil" is one of Netflix’s light-horror excursions, nothing too gory or sexy. ... It’s messy TV but, really, you can’t go too wrong with devil worshipers.
