This show is off the hook. Humor comes from all sorts of unexpected angles. Episode three ("Sam The Man") had us rolling on the floor. It's the best thing since Broad City. Please don't cancel it.

Knowing Sam Richardson (one of the best and breakout supporting roles on Veep) and ex-SNL'er Tim Robinson are from Detroit and have known each other for years adds to the enjoyment of this low key comedy. And it's nice that Detroit is just the backdrop, not a "third character" or comment on urban decay, or whatever. Even if you don't know their actual back story, their chemistry and timing come through. The Detroit details (Faygo red pop, newscaster Mort Crim giving weird newscasts, Stroh's Ice Cream, etc.) are charming, and a nice nod to these actors hometown. Expand

I think I found the problem with this show: It's not funny. It's just stupid. Watched well into the second episode when I mercifully pulled the plug so I could concentrate on clipping my toenails. Not an ounce of subtlety or intelligence. A more apt title would be, "The Two Stooges."

This show is very funny and has a super carefree attitude characterized by show-runners Tim Robinson and Sam Richardson's comedic stylings. Watching their terrible ads is hilarious.

This is a great show, and I believe it will grow in popularity. Tim Robinson and Sam Richardson have great chemistry that will leave you in stitches. The show had me hooked from the very start, but it may take a few episodes to really grow on others. It is unique, and hopefully, season 2 is as enjoyable as the first.

What sells the antics is the chemistry between its leads and the fun they’re so clearly having together.

A rare new sitcom with as much heart and soul as jokes and wackiness, Detroiters is a welcome surprise premiering on Comedy Central Tuesday night.

Richardson and Robinson’s laid back approach to rolling out comedy--and especially the former’s addictively amiable nature--makes for consistent chuckles that can develop into hearty guffaws. It’s a soft sell you won’t regret buying the next morning, and one that could pay off even bigger in weeks to come.
