What on earth happened to Designated Survivor? This 2nd half of season 2 is garbage! Cheesy, poor scripts, bad acting, stupid story-lines and absolutely dreadful acting by Maggie Q who plays FBI agent Hannah Wells. The first Season was pretty good, but this is a joke folks! I can't watch it any more after episode 12. An insult to the intelligence!

It's no wonder this show got canned.Season 1 left you feeling like wanting to watch season 2. Just a few episodes in makes you want to not watch it anymore. These TV/movie people have yet again moved from reality with a touch of artistic licence, through corny and barely believable all the way to childish, completely unbelievable, a joke and a waste of time. This show isn't giving viewers enough reasons to watch it. The tremendous premise from the pilot episode is now long since forgotten. A meandering plot hamstrung by stiff acting and bad dialogue. The new characters bring nothing but more cliches to the party.

The first season was exciting and fresh. The second season is cheesy without a fun campy factor. It looks a soap, a shallow representation of things happening in the real world. The president staff is always represented by the same 4-5 people and president Kirkman is starting to get annoying, just by being way so nice and reasonable that even doctor Phil is more edgy.

Last season this was a compelling series and I was waiting for the next episode with great interest. However, this season the writing is so bad that I find it ridiculous and boring. The episode this week with a presidential request for a metal of honor investigation, a criminal pardon, and an investigation of bees ending in a absurd domestic argument was bad beyond description. The only thing this episode showed was that the writers have no idea where to take this series. Can you imagine sending the top white house staff out to do these things........... Guess they had nothing to do????? What a waste of great actors and a setting that should offer so many opportunities. BAD BAD BAD Get a new writing staff to save this series, please. I paid for this on Amazon. I won't make that mistake again. Expand

this is one of those times when a new show started off with such an interesting premise and was fun and engaging in a guilty pleasure kind of way but went quickly downhill and jumped the shark really early. I can not begin to tell you how many storylines went off the rails at the end of season 1 and completely left any semblance of reality at season 2.

Second Season of Designated Survivor falls way short comparing to the first season. With conspiracy story lines coming to an end, unimportant every-day presidential crisis seems to be largely boring.

The first season of "Designated Survivor" far exceeds what the second season has offered viewers so far.

The show's writers should have extended the plot line as to who destroyed the capitol building instead of wrapping everything up last year. That would have made for a more suspenseful show this season.

Started as a total ripoff of a Tom Clancy novel premise and remained interesting for a time as it tried to make its own way. As the plot becomes more tangled and further away from initial bombing of the Capital Building, the harder this struggles to keep my interest.

As much as we’d all like to see a Tom Kirkman nice guy in the Oval Office, hoping to see something to rekindle my interest soon, otherwise it’ll just be another so-so Oval Office drama.

    Addendum:
So far, it’s all too much over the top. The First Lady dies and the grieving President has to go to a shrink while shirking his duties. Dirty bombs go off and yet it isn’t really all that devastating. The ex-pres is going all deep state. This is a series in search of the next crisis. Too much, doesn’t connect with me.

I’m glad the network did not buy into the whole special counsel and election thing. I was not looking forward to it either. Nice diversion for a while but just didn’t have the quality for the long haul.

All told, the “new-ish” Designated Survivor seems serviceable, if not (though understandably) in the same league as the venerable White House drama it aims to emulate.
