A really funny anime with a great dub, it falls prey to a fairly mediocre ending and an annoying sidekick character. The dub for this anime is great as it seems like they went out and got everyone from DBZ to play the majority of the voices. The main character, the titular Desert Punk, is a horrible little urchin who makes the best cracks and is extremely funny. Even though he's a horrible human being, you can't help but like the guy as you can tell he's got just enough of a soft spot in him to make him likable. The problem is with the sidekick character who becomes more invovled as the series progresses. She's annoying and whinny and just a terrible teenager who looks like she's 8 years old. I hated Kosuna and as they started getting further and further away from Desert Punk himself toward the end, the series started losing some of its luster. That goes double for the ending. I understand where they wanted to go and the message they wanted to send but the ending was just bad in general. I won't spoil anything but I was extremely let down by it. But it's a good anime to watch, even if it's just the first 12-18 episodes. Anything after that starts going downhill quickly.… Expand
