I wasn’t sure what kind of plot he was going to come up with but they hit it out of the park. The show has all of the Lil Dickyness of his music.

The first few episodes are funny but on episode 5, where Dave tackles mental health, you realize this is a show that is as unique and groundbreaking as it is funny. This is the best new comedy I’ve seen since Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Ooh !! it's a terrible show with a very weird and unconvincing premise. Low Brow humor at its worst. He should stick to just the music and not try to imitate the likes of Donald Glover.

Not into the "white guy is too silly to have any street smarts" premise. "Dave" is kind of a vulgar offshoot of "The Neighborhood". Guess if you can pick anyone to have touchy girlfriend scenes it makes sense. In that regard, a lot of Dave's world seems very "cast" and unnatural. Top-notch absurdist, but somehow touching, comedy about Dave Burd, a white jewish rapper (Lil Dicky AKA LD), inhabiting the black world of hip hop. Some very clever stuff about cultural appropriation and misogyny, particlulary about how some point the finger but are hypocritical/culpable.

There are a few too many dick jokes but some of them actually stick the landing.

The dialogue is particularly excellent and there are countless brilliant cameos from hollywood actors and hip hop icons.

Recommended even if you have no interest in hip hop (I don't) - though it helps.… Expand

After the season finale, Dave is now my favorite show. It is not only funny, but it’s unpredictable. I feel like I’m watching a new art form that’s fresh and unpretentious. Dave insists upon itself, but in the best way possible. The showAfter the season finale, Dave is now my favorite show. It is not only funny, but it’s unpredictable. The show is like the poor ugly wet dude wearing a non matching track suit you meet with the hot shiny girlfriend who smells like unattainability and vacuums desire from everyone who looks in her direction. At first you just don’t understand why she would lower her standards. Maybe she grew up hefty or recently had a nose job that had to begin with blasting? After 5 minutes of interaction with him you have a semi and butterflies and start thinking he can do better. Thank you Dave and everyone involved with the show. Life has us down right now, and you bring us up for a half hour to 45 minutes a week. Please keep them coming!… Expand

Funny and more nuanced than I expected. Something you can watch at different levels. Has all the college humour and brash dick jokes but also some interesting aspects of inter-personal relationships and self-realisation.

Lil Dicky is an extraordinary rapper, and apparently he’s also got a knack for cinema. I think we all wonder what being a famous rapper would be like, and this show is like living vicariously as Lil Dicky for a brief moment.

The best dramedy on television. I had no idea what to expect, and had never heard of Lil' Dicky before seeing this show. But the show is funny and emotional and nearly perfect. An exceptional show, that transcends the hiphop roots of it's creator. Funny, charming, challenging, engaging, human and frequently magnificent. I liked Lil Dicky, but I LOVE Dave.

One of my favourite shows of all time, heartfelt, funny, and so creative. Lil Dicky’s music translates into such engaging TV and entertainment, that is a true multi-hyphenate creation.
