    To my surprise, I have really enjoyed it and I needed only to evenings to watch the entire season. This was an amazing story that filled (or completed) the world of Cyberpunk 2077 I know from the game. Lots of locations and characters from the game you can recognise in the

    Après le jeu (si controversé…) voici la série… animée ! en 10 épisodes survitaminés (c’est le moins qu’on puisse dire) l’on y suit le parcours agité et brutal d’un petit jeune aux dents longues, devenu mercenaire quasiment à l’insu de son plein gré, par la force des choses…

    Comme dans le jeu, l’on retrouve cet esprit rebelle, anti-corporatiste (le créateur du jeu de plateau, bien avant    Après le jeu (si controversé…) voici la série… animée ! en 10 épisodes survitaminés (c’est le moins qu’on puisse dire) l’on y suit le parcours agité et brutal d’un petit jeune aux dents longues, devenu mercenaire quasiment à l’insu de son plein gré, par la force des choses…

    Comme dans le jeu, l’on retrouve cet esprit rebelle, anti-corporatiste (le créateur du jeu de plateau, bien avant le jeu vidéo, était déjà -bien entendu- un communiste) et de fait cette diabolisation permanente de l’autorité et des corporations en genéral et en particulier. Tout cela manque évidemment de nuances mais la série -excessive à tous points de vue- ne fait pas dans la dentelle et fait penser à un certain Akira (!)… d’une certaine façon bien sûr.

    La noirceur et les trahisons, l’ultra-violence, les illusions et les rêves brisés sont donc légion ici et en mettent plein la tête. Quelques trous dans la narration mettent à mal cette histoire un brin tarabiscotée mais l’ensemble tient encore la route. On peut en dire autant du montage nerveux et de l’action souvent brouillonne… ainsi que de l’animation globalement… assez affreuse à suivre !

    Car en effet, ce Cyberpunk est réalisé en 2d…! et on peut compter les couleurs : en 2d 32 couleurs environ, selon la situation, parfois un peu plus. Peut-être. Voilà qui est décevant. Et laid. Heureusement, les personnages sont très bien écrits et se révèlent tous très attachants, y compris les méchants de l’histoire !

    Enfin, last but not least, le fan service est généreux pendant toute la série et bourré de clins d’oeil… un régal si vous avez joué au jeu évidemment, sinon, toutes ces références vous passeront par dessus la tête. Mais ce n’est pas grave, la série se suffit déjà à elle-même : bien tarée et bien cruelle ! signalons en outre une excellente VF et quelques passages.. tarés et bien drôles.    … Expand

    Admittedly, I have never played Cyberpunk 2077. But you don't have to in order to enjoy this anime. Go watch it. It's awesome.

    Amazing Cyberpunk anime. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much considering it's a videogame adaptation, however, I was completely wrong, it is such an amazing series and it is not required to have played Cyberpunk 2077 to watch this, like an independent show. It really adds a lot to the lore. Amazing, just amazing.

    Absolutely stunning. Hooks you from the very first chapter. The characters are memorable and very compelling. The animation is top-notch. If only there were more episodes. Now I want to return to the game.

    I liked some of the characters and the visuals were good, but there is one big elephant with a cyberexo problem in the room: It is all meaningless.
    It is made meaningless by itself, because the writing is so all over the place and the things that happen so absurdly overpowered and incomprehensible, that everything that happens is merely arbitrary. Really. But then again... not really. But then again, really. The writes just made a huge mess and broke their own worldbuilding over and over and over again.     I enjoyed the Cyberpunk 2077 game and the anime brought back all my good memories of Night City, along with a fresh new story. Great characters, great animation and plenty of cyberphychosis. Please give it another season!!!

    Finally got to watch Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and it's probably my favorite anime I've ever watched. I loved how amazing they were at creating such a full fledged, interesting, colorful, visually spectacular world; the animation was exceptional. The performances were phenomenal especially from Aoi Yūki, Kenn, Tomoyo Kurosawa, Wataru Takagi, Takako Honda, Kazuhiko Inoue, Michiko Kaiden,Finally got to watch Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and it's probably my favorite anime I've ever watched. I loved how amazing they were at creating such a full fledged, interesting, colorful, visually spectacular world; the animation was exceptional. The performances were phenomenal especially from Aoi Yūki, Kenn, Tomoyo Kurosawa, Wataru Takagi, Takako Honda, Kazuhiko Inoue, Michiko Kaiden, Hiroki Tōchi, Yurika Hino, and Yukihiro Misono. The writing was outstanding especially the character development specifically with the characters David and Lucy. An A+ series.… Expand

    A decent adaptation, it manages to capture the Cyberpunk setting very well with the beautiful cinematography and amazing soundtrack, but the sudden character development feels unnatural, and the entire story is quite rushed and disjointed, I couldn't connect emotionally with any of the characters and I ended up not caring about most of them, even though liked the ending a lot.

    I was absolutely hooked for the first 6 episodes but just thought episodes 7 -10 were okay-ish. The pacing kind of goes off the rails after episode 6 unfortunately, though it still had its moments. Overall, it's still worth watching and is certainly much, much better than most adaptions of video games.

    I skipped past this quite a few times before I finally clicked, man am I glad I did, everything about this series is beautiful and not one I'll likely be forgetting anytime soon.
    The animation is fast, action packed, the music and art is super pretty and the main characters you'll easily love right away. I do wish the ending was more forgiving, and though the ending can leave you #crushed    I skipped past this quite a few times before I finally clicked, man am I glad I did, everything about this series is beautiful and not one I'll likely be forgetting anytime soon.

I do wish the ending was more forgiving, and though the ending can leave you #crushed and maybe a little teary the biggest pain is in knowing there won't be a season two so keep that in mind going in.    … Expand

    So watchable right off the bat. ... Cyberpunk 2077: Edgerunners is a fantastic addition to the Cyberpunk universe. Its narrative is even more engaging than the original game in certain respects, with a protagonist it’s easy to get behind and root for.
