Aldis Hodge comes back like gangbusters with his definitive take on detective Alex Cross, but the series still can’t figure out to be as killer good as he is.

STREAM IT, but with reservations. The second season of Cross still has a lot of charm, especially in the relationship between Cross and Sampson, but feels like it’s going to take some time to really find what its primary story is going to be.

Abandoned by the show’s narrative as well as the series’ writers, Alex disappears from view, and the show unspools into a run-of-the-mill crime thriller.
