    At the very least, the antagonists in the first two episodes are unique and interesting, and the direction the show is heading in with Voit is wholly unexpected and somewhat fascinating. It’s arguably the most interesting content we’ve seen yet from Voit.

    Altogether, Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 3 (also known as Criminal Minds Season 18) lays the groundwork for an exciting ride that could pit the BAU against one of its biggest challenges yet, at least if the team's fears prove to be true.

    “Swimmer’s Calculus” was a mixed bag. By now, the continuation should have a clear sense of self and a firm handle on narrative balance, something the season premiere palpably lacked.
