PeterS.Nov 16, 2009This was very enjoyable in places with a good cast and a decent script. However the program wasn't original at all, the dialogue was a little labored in parts and most of the back stories of people's lives were easy to uncover. Also, it was probably best to record it and watch it one episode after the other, to bypass adverts and watch it as intended.

BobBNov 25, 2009I really enjoyed this. It didn't plumb any great depths but the story lines were involving and standard of writing and acting first rate. I wish ITV produced more drama of this quality.

Though each character in Collision is in some way connected by the crash itself, it feels at times more like an old-fashioned collection of short stories, the kind that often end, O. Henry-like, with an ironic twist.

It’s no “State of Play,” or even “Five Days,” the 2007 BBC-HBO abduction drama that it resembles in structure and pace. But it’s still sufficiently intelligent and textured that it makes the sparse American competition in the closed-end crime drama category--the “Jesse Stone” movies, “Harper’s Island”--look silly by comparison.

Collision is a terrific example of an unconventional and original story, weaving suspense, irony, mystery and emotional turmoil in the aftermath of a deadly multicar freeway pileup.
