This is one of the better anime series. It has a great sense of pacing and suspense, I mean there are some cliff hangers that literally leave you enraged because you don't have time to watch another one, but you do anyway. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes fantasy/horror animes.

This show involved a lot of sheer perfection. However, the series merits a 9/10 only because the ending appeared to be a scrambled attempt by the makers to end the series on the spot, because it was confusing to no end and had only enough closure to keep me from bursting out in rage. Poor finish, a perfect 10/10 would've been in order otherwise. Expand

Claymore is a great series. That's what you first need to know. It follows the story of Clare, a half-human half-monster warrior in an unidentified land, and her seek for revenge. After a flashback and a great plot twist, one develops a strong sentimental link with the lead character and her former guardian, waiting for her to finally achieve her goal. To this one adds a really good sense of continuity within the plot, that is followed by the oustanding soundtrack created by Masanori Takumi, and the voice acting of a really talented veteran cast that includes Romi Park, Motoki Takagi and Houko Kuwashima. Perhaps one of the only flaws on this is the last episodes, which suddenly turn into a wasted material and crew because the channel wanted the series to end, changing the original "end" of the on-going manga and making an original story, which also, if it wasn't based on a manga, would be disappointing at last to the fans of the series. Finally, while not as great as its original series, Claymore still manages to be a great series, perhaps one of the greatest ever made. Expand

Claymore is in my opinion the most amazing and visually stunning anime ever! The strory line is amazingly deep and the action is nail bitingly exciting! it's great and gory and very bloody sometimes but it's made for adults. Over all, it's the best anime ever

Claymore is a interesting anime adaptation of a magma series featuring the journey of a claymore named Clare. She tries to keep her emotions in check coming of as somewhat of a robot. But occasionally certain things get the better of her and she will display it openly. Early in the season she picks up a companion a small somewhat annoying boy named Raki who cares for Clare greatly. The interesting part about this series as that it the claymores themselves are part Yoma and that one day or if they use too much power at one time and succeed to that inner animal being and completely transform or "awaken". So far I've had a somewhat good interest in continuing the series, but there arises certain parts that seem very......uhmmmm fake even for such a radical anime series. It features lots of good old bloody gore, a very menacing plot line and a more serious plot not aimed to fit with kids..... Expand

I utterly loved this anime. BUT, it also has some deep flaws that really do hamper it from being perfect.

Her sidekick on the other hand is INCREDIBLY annoying and I could help but wish for his demise most of the time. But he did develop a bit towards the end of the series into a more tolerable character. There is a slew of other side character that are very interesting, but barely touched upon.

Animation is utterly gorgeous, and one would think that a show about female warriors would be full of fan service, but not really. Claymore manages to remain decent in that regard. The violence on the other hand does get a bit out of control at times and one does wonder how so much blood can come out of one body.

Voice acting (English dub) is very good and there is allot of heart and emotion conveyed by everyone involved.

Story is a little all over the place with a bit of uneven pacing of the main story arc and the one-off episodes.

    Overall:
Claymore presents us with such a large and detailed world and leaves us want so much more. But that is also it's main draw back. As it stands there is only one season of Claymore and the rest of the story continues in the Manga, which makes you feel like the whole point of the series was to push the Mangas. I really do hope that one day they make a season 2 that expands upon the rich and wonderful world they have created.

i have no words for this, only 3: so **** amazing!
best anime ever! i wish season 2 comes out, but we have too many leechers and this is the reason why claymore is so unknown and probably no season 2 in the future. :(

The art and voice acting are pretty awful, but the story makes up for both. It has interesting twists, a fair amount of lore and the character development is... interesting.

Best manga series hands down. One of the best anime series hands down. This is an amazing story told in a dark and compelling universe, that somehow manages to be touching at the same time. Spectacular characters, exciting action scenes, horrific monsters, intriguing plot points, what doesn't this series have?

Oh, that's right. A widespread fan base. For some reason this gem of an anime
