Season 2 IMO is not as great as season 1, and by not as great Im only talking about the character stories, not the main characters. They didn't capture me as emotionally as the season 1 character stories. However, the Nagisa and Tomoya stories will literally have you in tears. I was crying in my dorm, and am grateful, my roommate was watching tv and didnt notice. I was crying in my dorm, and am grateful, my roommate was watching tv and didnt notice. I have never been so emotionally driven b anything before. The only reason I gave it a 9 is because the ending was a bit confusing, otherwise it would be a 10 without a doubt. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Clannad season 2, Aka Clannad After Story, takes you further to later story of this anime MC. Yes, most of the romance and high school life story was taken away, but instead takes you to the continuation of Okazaki Tomoya story as a man that struggling to maintain his independent life with his loved one, Furukawa Nagisa (Later married as Okazaki Nagisa).

For me, it got the greatest impact on their fans emotion. It's not like season 1 that you can cry out on each character story, in this season, after story, makes a great plot at building up a story that focusing in one family story. You will get what the author was trying to make in this season when you watch episode 18. The depth of this anime can makes you cry as hard as you can in just a single episode, harder than you can cry in season 1.

I think it is not lacking anything, instead the author was topping this series, Clannad, with a great touch of emotion.

Season 2 of Clannad takes place not so long after the end of season 1. Almost all of the characters from the first season have gone off since they all graduated from high school. The point of the story mainly takes over with the main characters from the first season and how they are living out their lives. Something happens halfway which takes the storyline to a whole new direction turningSeason 2 of Clannad takes place not so long after the end of season 1. Utter perfection from the sounds of above. While rather vague at first, the series shapes up quickly and moves forward at a good rate. The events that happened in this show shook even me, and I couldn't help but understand how all the characters felt, and how sad life could be in others' shoes. 10/10
