In my opinion, the 2nd greatest USA original show behind Monk. People are complaining about, the characters, being perfect. But im sure most people would to when they spent more, than half of their life doing that proffesion.

I cannot say that I was impressed with the pilot of this new USA comedy/action piece. I wanted to be, but everything about it comes off as being second rate. It tries to create the same insightful effect through the use of voice overs that Dexter manages so brilliantly, but they have so far ended up being obvious and sometimes just plain stupid. It also borrows from House, whose main I cannot say that I was impressed with the pilot of this new USA comedy/action piece. I wanted to be, but everything about it comes off as being second rate. It tries to create the same insightful effect through the use of voice overs that Dexter manages so brilliantly, but they have so far ended up being obvious and sometimes just plain stupid. It also borrows from House, whose main character sets people and situations up with a master stroke that always leaves you either laughing hysterically or dropping your jaw in awe of his genius. Here the setups just don't seem like they would work (In one instance he slams into another vehicle head on, and acts as if he would not be affected at all, simply because his vehicle has no air bag. It might work to a degree, but it is far from the brilliant plan the writer's want us to believe it is.) Script aside, Jeffrey Donavan is just not as good as Michael C. Hall, Hugh Laurie, and the blevy of other actors who have shows primarily focused on themselves. It's not all bad, though, I chuckled a few times, and I think Donavan has a chance to be good, but he is just not there yet. It is summer and between episodes of Entourage, Rescue Me, and John From Cincinnatii you have to watch something, so you might as well give this a shot. Expand

Interesting but need to filter profanity!! Would make it a better program & don't have to worry about my Granddaughter hearing this.

The show has nice graphics and the acting is ok. But how they talk like they know everything really annoys me. And they are usually wrong anyway if you really know the topic.

Would be great except for Profanity. The profanity does NOT improve the show at all. Would have given it a much higher rating if it wasn't for the foul language.

I love this new show! Mike is perfectly sarcastic and gets along with his mother just like I get along with mine! I'm all ready a loyal fan after just one episode.

I think it is the best show on tv. I am a new viewer. Won't be watching though because of the profanity especially using God's name in vain.

A damn good hour of TV. It should be a crime to miss watching this show. Honestly, if you complain about profanity, you're over protective. Kids are introduced to the F bomb at a much younger age, so hearing "wiring crap to a car" and "you lying son of a bitch!" isn't close to being profane.

Snappy dialog and competent production make "Burn Notice" eminently watchable, if not riveting. Michael Western comes across as a slightly toned-down version of F. Paul Wilson's Repairman Jack, Gabrille Anwar is charming as Fiona, and a pudged-up Bruce Campbell is surprisingly subdued. Not great, but I'll watch it again.

This has a great plot leaving room for comedy and drama to co-exist. Excellent cast, with a little luck this series should have staying power.

I loved this show's premiere. It had action, romance, comedy and suspense and it was just the first episode. Donovan is gorgeous and I think there is a big future for this show.

I watched this mainly to get my new Bruce Campbell fix. I have to say, this paid out in full. Not since Sam Raimi has anyone written material decent for Bruce Campbell (sadly, that includes... Bruce Campbell). But he is just the "sidekick" in this great show. I was plesantly surprised by how great the acting was. The show is three parts Bourne Identity, two parts House, and one part I watched this mainly to get my new Bruce Campbell fix. I have to say, this paid out in full. Jeffrey Donovan is sexy as ex-operative turned private investigator. His deadpan demeanor is hilarious, and his growth as a human being well played. This show and The Closer are my favorite summer fare.

Smart and engaging. Easy both to follow and catch up. Always two plots to follow -- earning an immediate living by turning a good deed and figuring out the long-term burn issue -- that hold my attention. Well done USA.

One of the best shows that I have ever seen. It is witty enough to be smart, but not enough to come off as pretentious. Along with this theme of moderation, There is enough homemade spy gadgets to intrigue any fan of James Bond, or MacGyver for that matter, but the show delves in to the personal issues of Michael Weston enough as to balance out the fire fights.

The critics here are clearly on drugs. A 6.9 to 9.2 discrepancy? C'mon guys, all us viewers aren't completely off our rockers. This is a superb show. The acting is perfect, the characters are far more intriguing and relatable than any other show of its type, the humor is dry and punchy, and the action scenes are not overdone and rely strictly on the plot. If “Burn Notice” can keep up the energy and the inventiveness of its pilot, it’ll be a must-see summer series for me.

It makes a smart, charmingly irreverent first impression, thanks to its pleasantly warped, deadpan writing and performing.
  3. A standard detective story that's brightened by unusual characters and snazzy dialogue.
