The rest of the series was better. Seems that for some reason, season 7 decided to go woke instead of sticking with what made the other seasons work. Way to ruin what was for 6 seasons a pretty darn good show! It also dashed any interest I would have otherwise had in a spinoff, which now I couldn't care less about.

Gritty police show with all the typical drama; stoic hard-driving cop, partner trust issues, boss being set up, humorous co-officers, devious HMFIC, etc. Worth watching but wouldn't give it any awards. However, it's much better than the pablum on broadcast TV.

I was slightly worried after the failed in my eyes season 6, but this season delivers as much as any of the other seasons and is almost a perfect ending to one of the best police / detective series.

While the final episode is a rather disappointing end to what is one of the better police dramas going around, the rest of the season is well made, and does a good job of tying up a lot of loose ends.

Cop shows haven't felt this real since the glory days of Steve Bochco (NYPD Blue). [5 - 18 Jul 2021, p.9]

"Bosch" honored the work of police without always celebrating that work — a neat trick, especially in 2021, but often effective here. As a reminder that cops are both fallible and human, this series always held them to a higher standard. In "Bosch," sometimes — most times, really — they actually met it.
