“Bosch” is a show of small but persistent pleasures, and they remain intact. The writing is literate but natural. ... [Storylines] dip in and out of one another seamlessly. Welliver and Hector, and Welliver and Lintz, create relationships so quietly believable, it’s as if they’re in the room with you.

You can tell it's on its way out. The neo-noir atmosphere and detective Bosch's understated cantakerous demeanor is what hooked me up. In the earlier seasons there was an effort in building an intricate plot line, that was sometimes hard to follow.
This time around, it's the opposite. The perpetrator of the main plot line (murder of the scientist) can be figured out very easily despite the very stupid red herrings thrown in the way.
The side Haitian story is even more embarassing: It gets resolved in the dying minutes of the last episode, with one of the laziest send-offs ever wtinessed.
It really feels like the writers don't care.

The strength in this season lies in J.Edgar's story more so than Bosch's. Still a solid police procedural show, but it starting to look a tad jaded.
