Fans of the original Bosch will be pleased by the acting of Titus Welliver, and his ability to bring the character from the books out. Unfortunately we see a lot less screen time from Titus as they focus a lot more on the Honey Chandler and Maddie characters. Naturally a bit of transition into today's black lives matter creeps in as honey goes off to fight for the rights of minorities because the evil police just want to shoot everyone, and the Maddie character it just takes way too long to develop from a simple storyline. I guess these days they have to do something like this in order to appease a potential progressive audience to come watch what is technically still a police show. I wish they'd go back to the Bosch that Conley wrote of in his many books. Expand

If you liked Bosch the original series you will like this. Great spin off with the same vibe as the original but at the same time with small nuances that make it its own thing. Some of the most iconic characters are there or at least make an appearance. Completely recommended to all the genre fans.

The writing is getting weak. Characters still good with the changing relationships from the first series. Nice to see more of Ms Rogers and Bosh's daughter. We rate this "ok to watch - not bad."

What can I say! Bosch is back, with full power. As much as this is a spin-off, it sticks to the original show's roots and I just love that, as a long-term Bosch fan!

Solid enough without ever overextending itself.
Starts slowly but picks up as the season goes on, but this still falls short of it's parent show.
Fans will love it but it all feels unnecessary.

The good news: Harry hasn't lost his edge, even if this spinoff sometimes stalls momentum by juggling a few too many storylines. [23 May - 12 Jun 2022, p.7]

Welliver’s contemplative talents have long been on display in this role and the show is at its best when it’s just Harry quietly talking with people. But Rogers, with that immaculate blunt cut bob, had me intrigued in these newest episodes.

Bosch: Legacy is pulpy, procedural fun in the tradition of both Bosch and the storied, sometimes sordid history of fictional Los Angeles gumshoes that dates all the way back to Phillip Marlowe.
