    Very sad. Very very depressing show. Bojack Horseman is a brilliant example of what depression is, and how it effects those that you love and care about. The show is absolutely fantastic and this 3rd season is another incredibly darkly comedic trip through the endless cycle of loneliness that is Bojack's life.

    It's not even that Bojack Horseman is the best thing television has had to offer in the last decade. It's been that for two seasons already. It's that they make it look so god damned easy.

    Clearly a beloved project from a smart and insightful group or writers. This show is very dense at times with dialogue and sight gags. There were times when I had to rewind to watch something twice so I could see and hear everything. The South Park crowd won't find it instantly gratifying but I'm glad for that. It's a great mix of sleaze and sincerity.

    Up until the last two episodes this was probably the best season of Bojack yet. It really benefits from the fact the emphasis isn't really actually on Bojack, but more on exploring the other characters in the show. Unfortunately, they end it as they have the other two seasons, on an existential crisis for Bojack that feels more like a pity party for rich artists in Hollywood than anythingUp until the last two episodes this was probably the best season of Bojack yet. It really benefits from the fact the emphasis isn't really actually on Bojack, but more on exploring the other characters in the show.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Negative reviews seem focused on the controversial "abortion" episode, angry that the show "preaches" a pro-choice message. I think they missed the point. The show didn't present Diane and Mr. PB's decision as a "slam dunk", even though neither of them wanted to have a litter. It presented the kind of caricatured both sides (Sextina Aquafina being kind of crassly and offensively "pro-choice", while satirizing some of the hurdles women must jump who want to terminate pregnancies). Moreover, a few episodes later, Captain Peanutbutter makes some anti-abortion comment that really hurts Diane/Mr.PB, even though Captain Peanutbutter is an entirely sympathetic/awesome character.

    I don't think that was a brilliant episode, but it was more about the superficiality of celebrity (Sextina) and the shallow news cycles than trying to position the show on a social issue. People should chill out and enjoy the character development it provided.    … Expand

    Who would have thought an animated sitcom about a talking horse would evolve into one of the most compelling examinations of depression on TV? BoJack Horseman's third season ups the drama factor and finds gold with nearly all of the core cast. Yet even in its darkest moments, the show never forgets to have fun and experiment with the potential of this wacky universe.

    Bojack continues its amazing story and blending of dark humor and drama and it couldn't be any better right now for this series. This season is as good if not better than season 2.

    As always, much love for this show. It just keeps getting better! Some of the satire is subtle, so if you are easily offended, you should probably stay away (much like many other animated series.) Great show!

    It just gets better and better.

    I liked this season even more than the second, I had liked the second more than the first, and I thought the first season was incredible. The show's unique format (releasing all 12 episodes at once) allows it to juggle the multiple storylines of its increasingly diverse cast, and yet still feel like a close enough examination of each individual    It just gets better and better.

    The show's unique format (releasing all 12 episodes at once) allows it to juggle the multiple storylines of its increasingly diverse cast, and yet still feel like a close enough examination of each individual character to give those stories the weight they deserve. Bojack's character is a nuanced and thorough portrayal of depression, and that remains an intricate part of the show, but in this third season (through other characters), the writers have also managed to take a frank look at broken relationships, family, celebrity culture, the difficulties of marriage, the work/life balance, and the ability (or inability) to cope with unfulfilled dreams.

    'Bojack Horseman' does all this, and more, whilst still remaining an entertaining and genuinely funny animated comedy.

    It's so beautiful and touching. The third season is the best so far. At the same time made me cry and laugh. I want fourth season so much, and I'm happy that was confirmed.

    I am ten of the twelve episodes into the phenomenal season 3 of Bojack Horseman. To call this show witty, poignant or masterful would be an understatement to the show's brilliance. Bojack Horseman, the show, fundamentally understands the human experience (never mind the irony of the show starring anthropomorphic animal characters) and poses challenging questions to its audience about lifeI am ten of the twelve episodes into the phenomenal season 3 of Bojack Horseman. To call this show witty, poignant or masterful would be an understatement to the show's brilliance. Bojack Horseman, the show, fundamentally understands the human experience (never mind the irony of the show starring anthropomorphic animal characters) and poses challenging questions to its audience about life and the pursuit of happiness. It asks, nay, tasks the reader to look inward to themselves while delineating relatable struggles of the depression and anxiety faced by its characters. This show has challenged me to be a better person. I can only sing the highest praise of this paramount drama and its creator, Raphael Bob-Waksberg, and my words only betray the important life lessons this show has to teach. But a lot of the writing is often overdone, meandering and repetitive (Fish Out of Water has an intriguing premise, but ultimately goes nowhere), and some of the more emotional momentsBetter than Season 1, but worse than Season 2.     Never has this show been better. The mixture of sad irony with comedy has reached an amazing plateau in the third season. Hopefully it will continue on this trend in future seasons.

    Its one interesting season of Bojack Horseman that you would want to watch you can't help but watch after seeing his return to his old TV show finding himself go crazy again.

Despite having some plot problems in the middle / end part , there is no thing that hinders the emotional development and the sequence of the facts. Bojack Horseman season 3 is one of the best tv seasons of this by far, and pays off it's mistakes with really good and appealing new content, like the way Todd's life is going on, and the episode underwater. Season 3 of Bojack Horseman has 5 new good things to each new bad thing.… Expand

    However, I did enjoy the first few episodes, especially Fish Out of Water, but it's delightful tone eventually dies down to a depressing mess. Everyone in this season seems unhappy which is very unpleasant.

    Well, this show definitely went to a dark place this season, but hold up, I thought this was supposed to be a comedy? Because it was not funny anymore. I still enjoyed the season, and will continue to watch, but I hope it finds its sense of humor again next season. And I hated - HATED - the abortion propaganda - yeah, killing a child is just a choice. Get out of here with that nonsense.

    I absolutely loved season 1 and season 2, But season 3 is starting to get "Progressive Preachy". If you don't mind having abortion rights rammed down your throat, or told that all white men are pretty much evil. Then season 3 of this show is for you. It just seems like they are looking at these issues in a much less open way, and much more preachy instead of insightful like the previous 2 seasons.

There's one episode in here that was made almost entirely without any spoken dialog. It managed to be one of the most emotional and effective episodes in the series history.

    While this new creative freedom often leads to magnificent results, it kind of gives the season overall a more disjointed feeling than the previous ones. It can occasionally feel like it's wandering without and goal or direction. Luckily, the aspects of the show we've loved since season 1 are still in place. Namely, the strong sense of humor and deep looks into the human condition that are often surprisingly dark in nature. Is happiness possible? Or are some of us just destined to be miserable? The show still asks these questions, provides some insight, and still leaves us searching for answers. This time around though it also takes a deeper look at the title character as well. Whether he chooses to be this way or is just caught in a spiral he can't escape. It openly criticizes his tendency to bring others down with him. Because of that, this Netflix exclusive is still going strong.

    For some reason I like Season 2 more than this.
    The first season there were a great bunch of episodes (the first 8) that weren't that great but after that the show gained it's soul, season 2 take that into a higher note but this one felt just fine. There are fun and smart moments but at the end it didn't felt that it was a progress.

    Bojack Horseman has improved with every season so far and continues to defy expectations in the way that it combines a dark sense of humour and satire with genuinely affecting drama. Netflix has delivered a real gem that can stand alongside the best of animated shows.

    I love this show for its no-holds-barred approach to Hollywood/LA **** and its rich characters who I actually feel like I know and care about. Me and the wife binged it in about 3 days. It is so engrossing and for such an unreal world is dark and understandable.

    I would say that BoJack Horseman and Rick and Morty are the two best animated shows of the last year or two. The writers were less afraid to jump into some even more depressing subject than they have in earlier episodes. I would say that humor is not as present as it has been earlier but it makes up for it with a lot of really good drama. Some friend ships are fractured and I'm not sure that life could get any worse for BoJack. Things will have to look up soon.… Expand

    This season was better than the other two combined in my opinion. Was it more depressing? yes. Was it even more real? yes. As someone who suffers from depression, this is more than I ever could have asked for in a show. A show that relays the real inner turmoil of what is going on in so many people's heads.     This show does a great job of making us laugh while also deeply impacting us emotionally. Luckily, Season 3 kept up to the high expectations with a great season. It's amazing how this show can make people relate so much to a horse going through his mid-life crises.

    I spent a day lying around, weeping, and questioning my life choices after watching this season. 10/10, would visit the darkest depths of my diseased soul again.

    While season 3 doesn't quite realise the lofty, post debut, rehabilitated heights of the season prior it does keep it firmly in the spotlight as Netflix's best original series since House of Cards.

    This show is simply amazing. It makes me feel so many emotions all together, and it's very strange that this come from a cartoon that should simply make me laugh. The third season continue in this serie awesomeness. I cried like a little baby at the end of the underwater episode. Watch this. Do yourself a favour. It makes you think about your life, your choices and who you want to be in your life.

    'BoJack Horseman' continues to improve as long as the characters maintain their integrity...which they don't have. It has some of the best episodes of the year but it also lacks consistency and, sometimes, we need it.

    It develops the characters and plays off of consistency, alongside the re-peat jokes if you pay attention. It is depressing and deep, but offers philosophic insight into what this comedic drama will offer.

    Heartbreaking self destructive marvel. When the show leans into it's darker themes it shines. Addiction and codependeny take the lead resulting in irrevocably paths for not only our favourite long faced horse but everyone. The writers for this show should be lauded for the attention they keep to detail or the animators little easter eggs and cultural references laced throughout the animation.

I think it is around the season where I think it really leans into Bojack's awfulness and the fact that he is essentially unredeemable. This is what I heard everyone raving about on the show so I'm glad it's finally hitting itsBojack is definitely starting to grow more on me now.     BoJack Horseman ends up becoming a thrilling, rueful study of the psychological games and uniquely vain, notably capitalistic decision-making that powers the entertainment industry. And yet, through its venomous jokes and unrelenting, uproarious gags, the series also recognizes how charming, joyful, and galvanizing entertainment for entertainment sake can be, no matter how stupid or silly it may seem.
