Great show , dont know why the rating isnt higher. Watched it since season 1 , earlier seasons are funnier though. Watch season 2 episode 4 burger boss.

Every character in this show (maybe excepting Gene) is hilarious in their own right. One of the best cartoons ever.

Although later episodes sometimes rely a bit too heavily on character tropes, Bob's Burgers is now entering it's 12 season with more consistency than any other comedy show has ever managed.
It's a huge testament to how much the creators care about quality writing to see a show of any kind hit a high-level, every week, after 12 seasons.
One only needs to look at the truly horrible fifth season of Rick & Morty to highlight how creators simply give up on shows and networks fob off fans with bottom of the barrel writers, to understand that for a show like Bob's Burgers to constantly be hitting a high bar, is an astonishing feat, after so many years.
If you've never seen it before, remember the first episode is poor and to give the show a few episodes to grab you. You've got a lot of quality content ahead of you, if it does.

Seasons 1-4 were the best seasons of Bob's Burgers. Almost every episode was a banger, except the following (IMO):

-Topsy
-Presto-o-tina
-Two-for-Tina

If I had to rate each one, S1-S2 is 10/10, and S3-S4 is 9.5/10.

Seasons 5-6 were good, but a very slight decline in quality. I personally liked the episodes, but I could see some people not liking S5-S6 as much as 1-3 or 1-4 seasons. For seasons 5-6 they weren't bad, but, (personally) not as rewatchable as the first 4. Good/great episodes, but a lot of them, I can't rewatch. (Edit: can rewatch sometimes, but not ALL the time).

Season 5 ranking: 9/10
Season 6 ranking: 8.75/10

Season 7 was the first season where I could really see the decline in quality (jokes, etc.). Even though I liked a lot of them, some episodes I can't STAND to watch.

Season 7 ranking: 7.5/10

Season 8-9 probably had more episodes I DIDN'T like compared to ones I like (this is mainly in Season 9). Season 8 ranking: 7/10
Season 9 ranking: 6.25/10 (Tweentrepreneurs brings it up by .25)

Season 10-11 has almost no episodes I like. Barely any episodes catch my eye while I'm reading the description on either Hulu or regular cable. In Season 10, I had maybe one episode I enjoyed. Season 11 had like 3 (it's not done yet so). And while some people may like these seasons, I think they aren't as good as older seasons.

Season 10: 5/10
Season 11: 6/10

Now, time for some specific critiques. I love the show, but there are some critiques I have. Only a couple though.

-Episodes about Tina (usually) aren't as strong as either the 3 kids, Bob and/or Linda, and Louise and/or Gene, or the family. I'm mainly talking about Tina's love life. It's probably me but, Tina's actor and personality isn't my favorite. And, in some cases, I think I am right.

Ratings: (in millions, from Wikipedia)
S3 E17: Two for Tina: 3.62
S3 E18: It Snakes A Village: 3.76

-Linda's voice. I'm not a fan of Linda's singing, but it was manageable for about the first 7-8 seasons. However, in around Seasons 9-11, her voice is so loud and obnoxious. Sometimes she sings too much. I like how her voice was not as high-pitched in early seasons.

-(Final) Gene and Bob don't get as many episodes. It's mainly Gene, but sometimes Bob. Some seasons just felt like that they didn't get enough episodes about them. Some could counter this, but hear this. In Season 3, Louise gets 5 episodes about her (as the main/good plot), Tina gets 3 (again, main/good plot), Bob gets 4, Linda gets 3, yet Gene gets 3, but most are with someone else with him to move the plot along (like S3 E8) (also, it's more apparent when you look at the whole series) It seems like the writers don't believe in Gene when it comes to episodes about him. It felt like his personality wasn't strong enough to make some plots work. Likes food, makes fart/butt jokes, has a bit more weight, and that's about it. The reason it works for Homer in The Simpsons is because he is an adult, so the writers can explore more shennagains to get into because of the age difference. Gene is not a teen, so they can get into SOME teen situations, but not a lot. It seems like he is more of a device for Louise and sometimes Tina. Thanks for reading through this whole freakin' thing, you're amazing.

Finally a show that doesn’t rely on disgust or sexual humor to pull in the bulk of Americans. They have some of that too, but it’s not a substitute for plot or characters. I love all of them, and I feel both kinds of happy when I watch.

Although it's been on a decade, I'm still not sure who this show is made for. The "jokes" are bland and vanilla, as off their meant to be family friendly with forced musicals and puns. The "jokes" are bland and vanilla, as off their meant to be family friendly with forced musicals and puns. The animation is awful but bright and heavily saturated. The voice work has an enthusiastic deadpan style about it which clashes with some characters who just scream through lines. It's a weird show that isn't very funny, but it's still on so they must be doing something right for their audience. Expand

Vile, insufferable tripe. Tries to be smart with "witty" plays on words just about every 20 seconds, animation is lousy, characters are one-dimensional and either infuriating or annoyingly bland.
