Was almost a perfect show. Sure there are certain aspects of episodes I’d rather see done differently, but the overall quality was consistent until recently.
Someone decided it was to change some things up. They started with Danny Reagan’s home life, but they need to shake up little brother Jamie’s social and professional life as well. It is past time for Jamie to get a promotionWas almost a perfect show. Someone decided it was to change some things up. They started with Danny Reagan’s home life, but they need to shake up little brother Jamie’s social and professional life as well. It is past time for Jamie to get a promotion (despite the PC’s long held policy of not helping his kids to the point where he damages their careers) and he needs to decide if he’s going to romance Janko or not. For a guy who’s supposed to be smart, staying in limbo personally and professionally is not! (Well, the season ending helped with the personal side, now let’s see a promotion for Jamie and Eddie.)
Do not like the new interm mayor. Don’t think this character should remain on the show at ALL!!!. Her management style is too much “ready, fire, aim.” Would also like to see the PC start grooming several potential replacements, after all, good leaders work toward a smooth transition.
Are the actresses playing the daughter and granddaughter getting lazy and only allowing themselves to be available for cameos? Why the short screen time this season?
Would be cool if they could get Jamie on a career fast track to the point where he could become both Danny and Janko’s boss. After that, we could have Blue Bloods, the next generation.
Addendum: The Nov 17 episode bothered me greatly. It was more about justifying retribution, payback and winking at the rules than the normal morality law and order message. Wherever the writers are going this season, it doesn’t seem consistent with their normal underlying tone. This episode was just wrong in so many ways. The Dec 1 episode had similar issues. Arguing whether or not vigilante justice is appropriate for child sex abusers. Jan 2018 continues with a liberal line on drug offenders. A doctor who illegally prescribes drugs shouldn’t face jail time and be sent to rehab? Pu-lease! It used to be this show found a creative but correct and lawful solution to the weekly problem. Now they are wanting the family to be divided and have some support lawlessness. This is bad writing; this is very bad.
Also do not like the introduction of a new political villain at the state level. The PC has enough to do keeping his department running smoothly, now a jerk from Albany has to take him on? Pu-lease! Only thing good about this is the complete absence of the interim mayor on this episode. Unfortunately I see a promo showing the character returning for yet another run at stupid plot development.
In a Mar 2018 show the list of “paradoxes” included the House Intelligence Committee, which is clearly a dig on the group attempting to find the truth about abuses found in the FBI and the DOJ. Shame on you! Fire the writers!
Lowering my score again due to the paradox that good cops have to get suspended for disobeying orders to save a mentally challenged civilian. The writing this year is bad and getting worse!
Lowering my score for this season for the fourth time and it will get even lower if the producers let the writers keep this up.… Expand
