Nov 9, 2015The season started slow but has picked up speed. The arrival of a new Hap rival should increase the tension. Actors doing a great job.

Oct 29, 2015First off Jewels is absolutely beautiful! The plot is somewhat interesting and the acting is above average. The biggest bother to me is that there is no mountains in Western North Dakota where this is supposed to be set. The movie is about being on the Bakken yet they filmed the whole thing in Colorado. Would have been better and much more realistic had they actually filmed in North Dakota.

Sep 29, 2015The characters, young man/young woman, are attractive (naturally). Well, maybe just too attractive. Each situation they get into is telegraphed way ahead of time (so you don't have to worry about missing anything) and it's almost as if things work themselves out sort of magically for this wonderful couple. But then, that's what you were rooting for, wasn't it?

Sep 29, 2015ABC is in the Prime Time soap business, but this is stretching it a bit. There was nothing compelling about the pilot, which felt like it telegraphed every move. Worse yet, why would we care about these characters? That's a problem.

Apr 20, 2016Great show.I watched 10 episodes in row and when i saw that show was canceled I was sad.It would be great if you guys renew this show because blood and oil is great. Please renew ,please !!!

The first hour spends so much time setting things up it may not have been indicative of what's to come. But the drama needs to ramp up quickly if this is going to have any chance at all.

Both Johnson and Valleta recognize the script for what it needs--a quirked eyebrow here, a glower held a bit longer than usual there--and tip the story in their favor as the down-and-dirty version of Frank and Claire Underwood. Crawford and Rittenhouse are so busy trawling for sympathy that they barely register.

Don Johnson, who’s worth his weight in gold or oil--anchors the show as North Dakota tycoon Hap Briggs.... You can bet the first hour climaxes with some of the main characters rolling around in oil, punchin’ and brawlin’. But the show could develop its own mythology of contemporary wildcatting.
