Nov 14, 2021**** the hater.
The first 2 episodes are very good and the CGI is smooth and well done. -
Nov 14, 2021It's blade runner rendered in PS3 era graphics and complete with early 90s, floaty, animations. I feel awful for the Japanese side of the production, who were most likely threatened to include contemporary American racial/gender demographic quota's and Lana del Rey by the same people who put pickle Rick on women's underware.

Feb 12, 2022Blade Runner: Black Lotus captures the overall vibe and aesthetics established in Ridley Scott's 1982 film. However, the CG animation is underwhelming in 2021. . The story is not bad after episode 5 the series gets more interesting.

Jan 9, 2022Warms up slowly but finds its pace and rhythm after the first few episodes. It's a lightweight but enjoyable and faster paced dive into the world of Blade Runner, but nevertheless keeping to the themes and world building of the movies (note: you need to grit your teeth and get past the first couple episodes which are quite cheesy and bad)

Having seen three of the 13 episodes, this "Blade Runner" feels like a missed opportunity. And to paraphrase a certain cynical cop from the original, it's too bad if the show doesn't live, but then again, who does?
-
Blade Runner Black Lotus amounts to a worthy addition to the Blade Runner series that’s as much of an entertaining individual story on its own as it is a prequel further embellishing the groundwork for the world glimpsed in Blade Runner 2049.

The main issue with Blade Runner: Black Lotus is that there isn’t really a compelling hook here aside from the Blade Runner bit in the title. It’s a competently assembled tie-in to the larger mythology, but, at least in these early episodes, it’s not clear if there’s much to it beyond that.
