    Many characters fell during this rewarding and remarkable season. It wasn't a depressing ending like many anticipated as most characters ended up in a happy place by the end. Everything came to a satisfying and fitting end. Just like before, the battles looked much better than previous seasons and the characters excelled. This show could stand alongside the greats like Game of Thrones,Many characters fell during this rewarding and remarkable season. Characters decisions affect everyone and you never no what can come out of a characters choice. Black Sails has become one of my favorite shows ever created.… Expand

    I loved season 2 and 3, Black Sails is probably one of my favourite things I've ever seen but this season makes me laugh at times of how bad it is, there is no coherence in the way a lot of plots develop, characters change their mind in the most implausible way just to create drama or a new twist.
    Silver trying to intimidate Billy is stupid at best considering how their relationship is    I loved season 2 and 3, Black Sails is probably one of my favourite things I've ever seen but this season makes me laugh at times of how bad it is, there is no coherence in the way a lot of plots develop, characters change their mind in the most implausible way just to create drama or a new twist.
    Silver trying to intimidate Billy is stupid at best considering how their relationship is and how Silver's character was until this season. I understand that a lot of time passed but it's really out of character even if he is taking Blackbeard's old place he isn't him.

    Eleanor and Max really bored me this season, their plots and dialogue are the worst and out of context with everything else.

    Glorious! It just keeps getting better and better. The multi-dimensional depth, breadth, range, and sophistication pushes the bounds of humanity. I knew this was going to be something special right at the beginning of the first season when the show educated me that pirates were democratic. For anyone that doesn't understand the 'high' aspect of the show: Rome began as brigands.

    Considering the fact that the show continuesly improves I think Black Sails is one of the most underrated shows in the buisness. When it comes to performance, character development and dialogue I think this is amongst the best i´ve ever seen. CGI looks brilliant - in comparison to other well financed programs like The Blacklist etc.-

It saddens me that it´ll end with this season but also it´s very positive that the producers don´t make the same mistakes like other big shows ( quality just fading away like TheWalkingDead etc.) stretching a program beyond it´s limitation.
    Best pirate series ever made! Fine actors,, an interesting plot with believable twists and beautiful set pieces .

    I'm sorry to all 'Black Sails' fans but I think that pirates with master's degrees in strategy, sailing and politics aren't too believable and entertaining. This is a case where clichés may well bring the amount of adventure needed for the high-costly series instead of trying to make them sound like the most intelligent people of the world.

The gratuitous cable nudity and strange sexual diversions of earlier seasons have been left behind (if not forgotten) in favor of an increasingly political clash of ideas. The series successfully engages the warring imperial powers, the pirates, the colonial landholders, and their slave laborers all into something entertaining and digestible inIt's a show that's grown with every season.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This show really jumped the shark after season 2. Charles Vane was by far the most interesting and compelling character on the show. Killing him was a disaster. Eleanor became so preachy and whiny that I was overjoyed to see her arrested and shipped off to London. Season 4 was a complete dumpster fire, only because we all remember the stories of how pirates spent all of their spare time crusading against the evils of slavery, fighting to free the slaves of the West Indies, and only taking time off from their Social Justice endeavors to explore their newly discovered homosexuality. Thank you liberals for once again proving that you can destroy anything you touch, including what should have been low hanging fruit in a good old fashioned pirate tale! ; - )… Expand

    Black Sails plays more like a courtroom drama than a jaunt on the high seas. It’s maddeningly earnest, stripped bare of personality and stuffed with dialogue that falls flat.
