TL;DR:

Birdgirl, the successor to legendary show Harvey Birdman is a truly commendable effort with some great comedy, but takes away some of the raunchy themes and testosterone-loaded shenenigans that were the bread and butter of Harvey Birdman's dark and twisted originality.

Oh well, commendable means it's a 6/10 and still watchworthy enough, if you ignore the super-wokeness that's crammed everyhwere.

Birdgirl is the spiritual successor of Harvey Birdman, where she was a truly quirky and to be honest way more funny sidekick character - kind of Birdman's female Robin that he never asked for or wanted, if you will.

While she's doing a splendiferous job of trying to carry on the sheer nuttiness, Birdgirl misses the endearing factor that made Harvey Birdman such a hoot (stupid witty pun intended): the Hanna Barbera Characters of old gone rogue and weaving in way too adult themes that made the cases so insane when Harvey tried to win them in court against insurmountable odds, mostly. Those cases brought by the Barney Rumble types were what carried the majority of the predecessor series, and they are what's seriously missing in this, sorry kids, "zeitgeist-dictated" girl showing that is still worth a watch nonetheless. The voice acting still is top notch and the "problems" Birdgirl faces in her new day job as successor to her mad CEO father Phil Ken Sebben - yes, that is one of the Sebben's & Sebben's of the original company - are still crazy enough to carry the theme. New products being developed, canned, HR problems arising due to misconduct and whatnot are an OK continuation to a legendary Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law, without ever reaching the originals wit or zanyness.

I’ve watched several episodes, while the ideas have potential for great comedy skits, they somehow ALWAYS fail to capitalize on what should be humorous situations. The writing is very poor.
