Season 1 of "Berlin Station" was great. Season 2 not so much. 2 has a different plot, most of the same characters, and several new ones. This season runs hot and cold unfortunately, so you're going to really like some elements and shake your head in bewilderment at others - didn't have to do that in season 1. Now, instead of looking forward to another season, I'm kind of hoping there isn't another one. But since this is an Epix production and this is their main, if not only, series then it'll likely be back and it'll be even worse because when do series ever get better? Expand

Season 1 of this show I thought was quite well done especially considering the difficult subject matter that they had taken on. Difficult in the sense of the end of the cold war and the general down playing of western centric political assassinations, violence, subterfuge etc.

The broad story of season 2 is quite believable and a good follow on from season 1. What really sours the season though is the inexplicable and unbelievable decision by not 1 but 2 of these CIA agents to firstly assist a known terrorist who is highly implicated in a plan to blow up a bridge and then assist in the assassination of a politician in Germany. I was just incredulous watching this nonsense unfold. All the while the Germans where broadly aware of what was going on.

This style of show, a political thriller, needs to operate within some fairly well recognised confines and this season does not, very much to its detriment. The CIA cannot run around assassinating political figures contesting a vote in an allied country with that country's intelligence service suspicious of them and hot on their heels. It just lacks plausability, not so much that the US would not do it but the personal culpability of the agents themselves, especially because the assassination was not authorised by the CIA.

It's awful. Pointless nudity and sex all the time, (it's getting annoying), annoying characters (i just wanna punch their face), dull dialogue, Richard's bad accent and clothes, bad cast, music is non-sense and they are going to discuss their political secrets in night clubs or porn clubs. What the heck? Also, they use bad language all the time....if it was a Quentin Tarantino movie, iIt's awful.
