Season 2 was made into two seasons (2 and 3) by broadcast order. Thanks to the Batman Wikia for explaining it. Because it was produced as one season I will give a complete review. Season 2 of the definitive animated Batman series. While the first season had the astonishing amount of 65 episodes (to get syndicated for TV) season 2 had only 20 episodes. This is however not a problem becauseSeason 2 was made into two seasons (2 and 3) by broadcast order. Thanks to the Batman Wikia for explaining it. While the first season had the astonishing amount of 65 episodes (to get syndicated for TV) season 2 had only 20 episodes. This is however not a problem because all episodes are excellent. Like said before in my total review they perfected the formula for a Batman series and created a dark matured setting with unforgettable story lines, characters and lot of impact, emotions and immersion. They kept up the good work and added a bit of more Robin. Again there is character development and everything feels well done. There are no missteps here and I will go into details in my favourite episodes list: “A bullet for Bullock” features Harvey Bullock maybe Gothams hardest or sturdiest cop who dislikes Batman. Someone put a bounty on him and he has to swallow his pride and ask Batman for help. I like the dynamic between them and the whole story is excellent from start to conclusion. “Trial” The inmates of Arkham Asylum have captured Batman and force the new district attorney who sees Batman as danger to hold a trial in the Asylum with them as jury. They say Batman is the cause for everyone's turn to crime. Interesting idea and episode as there was the argument from fans if Batman creates his villains and if he had this effect. “Harleyquinade” the Joker has stolen a nuclear bomb. Batman and Robin have to stop him and must rely on Harley Quinn. The three characters work well together and you see a bit more of Harleys backstory. “Baby Doll” This has grown on me over the years. A unique new villainness or better said a tortured soul that struggles. Sad and emotional. “The Lion and the Unicorn”. It is Alfreds episode. Everyone always underestimates this badass butler. He is a former soldier, veteran and definitely a force to be recognized. Look at Injustice where he beat up Superman (this is not a joke) or once was freed by Bane as he immediately recognized his skills as he needed someone to help him escape (forgotten where this was). Finally “Batgirl Returns” as it is a solid Batgirl and Robin episode with a good story. Overall this proved to be another excellent season and cemented again the greatness of the show. Expand
