Brilliantly written and acted. Bill Hader is a gem in every sense! The characters are wonderfully flesh and bones, complex, and multidimensional. The last season gets darker but it had no where else to go. I highly recommend.

Barry is one of the best shows on tv, so sad this is the final season. But it's going out on top, every episode is A+.

The show has gotten more and more dramatic and dark, and less comedic, but that's due to the way the story has unfolded. It all works, and with this and Succession going off the air, I am in need of some great new series!

Barry has proven to be more than just a comedy and knows how to balance it. With only 3 episodes left I can only imagine what is left in store and how this story will be wrapped up

2 season turned out excellent, it more dynamic and ridiculous. The 5th series so in general is ingenious. The final of a season turned out strong, it is much better than the first season.

A 7 though because I think it goes way too hard on the dark angle and it starts getting very repetitive. They just need to change up the story more or the 3rd season's going to wear people out and ruin the series. Please just get rid of Fuches, he sucks and is the real villain, we get it, can we move on now? It's not funny nor are we cheering on him miraculously surviving or manipulating people yet again for the millionth time. Hank is funny but again, that part of the show is getting repetitive. It's clear he doesn't want to be involved in organized crime, have him doing something else in season 3. Maybe Barry is no longer in this endless black mail situation but ends up in other situations where he needs to kill. Expand

El drama pesa mas que la comedia. El policia de Superbad es mas frio de lo que podemos pensar.

Full of darkness, yet funny and quite intriguing, the actors are fabulous and the story is just nuts.

TL;DR: If you enjoyed Dexter, you'll love his evil twin, Barry! Give this HBO series a serious try and cringe through the few parts that are kind of over-the-top even for this one.

Long read:
Barry is an absurdist and at the same time very dark comedy in the lines of Dexter, but with a serious twist. In the mind of Barry, the main character, that is. The acting of the cast is top-notch through and through. And most of the characters are in the "believable" realm and even if their portrayal is teetering on the edge of becoming too much. The absurdist part comes from over-the-top either stupid or blatantly comic book evil villain types that get strewn in or by some of the things characters stoop to do with almost no insight into their real motives - outside of probably being borderline insane.

Put on top the Fonz actor Henry Winkler as the centerpiece of Barry's universe and "cling on for safety" PTSD mental support mentor, sprinkle in some quirky and potentially equally insane side characters the likes of Barry's love interest and her entourage and you have a winning mix that keeps interesting enough through Seasons 1-2 but get kind of unbelievable towards Season 3 when the story needs to be wrapped up tighter than Barry's latest victim is in a rolled carpet.

You will get great laughs, dark twists out of most of the characters as their archs come to an end and some seriously absurdist story sidelines to digest while they're sweeping up the pieces.

Overall, Barry is definitely a great ride along the quality lines of what makes HBO so good. Albeit one that ride suffers from some bumps in the final season, showing the weakness in the seams as they try knit all the threads that have been thrown out there neatly in the final Season.

1st season start slows but still pretty funny, kinda goofy, sometimes emotional. Season 3 is amazing, surrealism meets psychology. Loved it

The show is heavy on symbolism and characters arc in wonderful and unexpected ways.

Bill Hader is stellar, however he is not a 'funny' character despite the show itself being funny. This is only possible through Bill and his supporting cast's amazing acting. NoHo Hank is sooooo good and i pray this actor gets more roles after this. Just wow.

Great, self aware and subversive take on TV serial killer characters with some commentary on show business, toxic masculinity and feminism.

Season 1 was inventive and tongue in cheek. Season 2 veered into cartoon/Tarantino. Season 3 is a collection of clichés and dumb plot lines.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After suffering through three seasons on depressing nonsense, it is revealed that everyone is awful especially title character Barry. Not an interesting trainwreck either, just a Skittles trail of cliffhangers leading to bleaker and less relatable outcomes. Expand

I really enjoyed first seasons, but the last 2 were a bit less interesting for me and a bit too weird at times. Especially last one, but still great tv series and entertaining throughout.
