    Gritty fun. Like an adult graphic novel put to the screen. Cartoonish realism I would call it. If you like sex, violence and action, and can suspend disbelief just enough, this is a 4 season ride that you can really enjoy. The characters of Job, Kai Proctor, Sugar Bates, Kurt Bunker are some of my favorites.

    I am amused by users (or more likely same person multiple times) who review a late season of a show and rate it a zero. I really did laugh out loud. To repeatedly watch a show that you can't stand enough to pretend to know about it, especially season after season is hilarious. There is a song about that. "Too much time on my hands..."

    I am pretty sure it is the same person multiple times because they all sound similar and more tellingly, mention their bizarre hatred of Eliza Dushku. It was worth the laughter though, thank you.    … Expand

    Well, what can I say. I love this show and am very sad that this is the last season. The reason I really like this show is that it plays by its own rules and Cinemax just lets the creators run with their crazy ideas. I usually hate flashbacks in shows (Arrow, cough, cough), but it is done very well here. I still think Season 2 is the best season out of ANY TV show I have every seen.Well, what can I say.     Astonishing good series.
    I loved the storyline, the terrific "over the top" fighting-scenes. They were marvelous.

    I´ll surely miss a sequel..... This is the best series in a decade

    All bad things must end with a bang since it's officially the final season of Banshee to ever air and end with eight episodes on Cinemax. However, there are good things and bad things of course. In this final season, the creators tried their best to deliver this last season as polished as possible in order to make this season righteous by delivering everything they can get to get itAll bad things must end with a bang since it's officially the final season of Banshee to ever air and end with eight episodes on Cinemax. In this final season, the creators tried their best to deliver this last season as polished as possible in order to make this season righteous by delivering everything they can get to get it right. And there were things that still got that Banshee flow moving were: the action intensity, outstanding performances from these wonderful actors, re-occuring characters, cinematography, sensuality, and a best f#cking finale to end with a bang. In correspondence, there are cons that entirely affected this final season were: the tone of this show felted completely different from the Banshee that we know of, the flashbacks are nice about what happened recently for the show's final moments but the eight episodes should've extended to 90 mins or 2 or 3 more episodes to make it more sensible, I like Eliza Dushku but I was disappointed that her character was a "meth-loving cop" on the job and I've expected for her character to be more than that, and the new characters that are presented in this last season were not as important to look out for because we've didn't know much about him or her and should've presented them in the previous seasons.
    Overall, this season delivered the quality that we've wanted it but there are times that the story goes bland because of the final season that people behind this show had to deliver. And lastly, this was indeed the best show that I'll remember for a long time that was on Cinemax and I just wish that the creators just kept going so this show where it actually left off at so that final season reaches its true last season.. And I feel like I'm going to bingewatch this show all over again from origins all the way to start of the first season because Banshee is my drug that I won't let go from head..

    Cardboard characters, not believable back scene, Dushku plays cardboard figure of strength which means play-acting kicking butt. Pretty much par for Cinemax and Dushku

I started watching the 1st episode and, since it's Cinemax, I should of known that within the 1st 10 minutes there would be violence, simulated sex, dead bodies and blood. Strength is not about physique or how much you can kick ass in real life or play-acting but comes from inside a woman knowing her heart and soul. Banshee portrays women on a very superficial level and bringing Dushku on only reinforces this because she has made this superficial caricature of women her bread and butter. Someone should have said no to this script but given Cinemax blood, gore, poor portrayal of women, I am not surprise.… Expand

    Flimsy plot line with poor writing and actors that are type-cast and superficial.Dusku plays the same role over and over again. but her "Army of Faith" won't let her grow as an actor.. Her Tweets would indicate someone that needs to be heavily medicated. In short, she is a fraud.

    Cinemax? need one say more. blood, guts flowing sandwiched between porn. Banshee fits right in even to the point that Eliza Dushku does butt exercises. Series relies on blood and not character development. Even though the FBI can be dumb as a bock of rocks, does anyone really buy a meth addict getting a badge?

    The critiques below pretty much sum up this show. I would add that bringing on Eliza Dushku actually hurt the show because it took away the chance to bring finality to the main characters instead of becoming a cardboard cut-out that you usually find on Cinemax

    Well, Only about 2 episodes left and then we can put a stake through this awful series. Maybe then Eliza Dushku will grow up and act her age. I am also offended about how she uses her ADD as an excuse for utter stupidity. "Army of Faith"= most idiotic thing said on Twitter. This show had promise but bringing on Dushku wrecked any chance at salvaging the final season

    Plot is totally unrealistic. Characters have no depth and Dushku as a meth using FBI agent isn't believable.Anyone who has lived near an amish community knows the very foundation of this series is BS

    EThings written below sum up the problems with this show but then this is Cinemax so one shouldn't be surprise. Dushku's addition adds nothing as she is playing the same old role from the 90's.

    Tucked away on Cinemax and by now almost doggedly proud of both its cult status and its utter unpredictability, Banshee remains a pure pleasure machine, at once vulnerable and sturdy, and determined to go out on its own terms, whatever the hell those may be.

    For the most part, the new season (I've seen four of the eight episodes) is excellent. Tropper and company find new contexts for most of the characters to match their altered surroundings. ... But in the middle of this comes a brand new kind of story for the show, and one that made me cringe not with delight at Banshee's latest impressive bit of the old ultraviolence, but with concern that Banshee had become TV's latest drama to prominently feature a serial killer.
