I thought it was gonna be hard to improve on the first season but Atlanta does just that. I really liked the singualr character focused episodes of this season like 'Teddy Perkins', 'Woods', 'Champagne Papi' etc. They massively develop the characters and really keep the vibe of the show going.

Quite unlike anything else currently on TV, I'm so glad I chose to rewatch Atlanta before

INCREDIBLE SHOW! Glover has shown why he's a creative mastermind again and again. Atlanta will be cemented as one of the great comedy dramas.

Wow. What an opening episode. The show gets so dramatic at times but never misses a chance for the quality humor seen in aligator man. The intro was excellent and definitely sent a "vibe"

Every episode captivates stories and blends genres like no other drama or comedy. The unique way of storytelling opens a new frontier of defining television itself in the era of peak television.

Donald Glover gets it. While we wait to find out what happens to the dragons and snow zombies, this sophomore season of fantastic television is the hit we've been waiting for.

Atlanta's just a really good television show, created by a brilliant man. It's just too bad MetaCritic has been overrun with puerile trolls who see any chance to strike out, good fun. No real way to combat this, such is the internet now. A shame, really.

Atlanta Season 2, like the first season, is a phenomenal show, but for subtle reasons. The most important Aspect of Atlanta is that it captures the odd weirdness of everyday life, but refracts it through a magnifying lens, and exaggerates the weirdness slightly. Weird things happen in everyday life, and when they do, you think both that it's incredibly random, but also pedestrian, because while random, it had to happen.

What does that mean? It's the feeling you periodically get when you watch Atlanta. It's the space between the normal and mundane and the funny and the nonsensical.

How does Atlanta capture this weird feeling, with which we are all familiar, and manage to consistently bottle it in fleeting moments? Atlanta succeeds as a reinforcing feedback between the stellar actors, who embody their characters, and the writers, who take the characters and actors to a new level. And the directors and the cinematographers who make the show look great and seamless.

Donald Glover returns to show us again that Atlanta is unique in his style and has creative potential that any other TV show would like to have. 10/10 for me.

In this second season Donald Glover has more freedom to explore different genres and take more risks to tell new stories. Atlanta is much more than a comedy series, it is very unique and enjoyable.

I would like to keep my review of Atlanta S2 very much like the season itself: short and to the point. It is crisp with humor and subtle parodic representation of the world and somehow manages to squeeze great moments like 'Alligator Man', 'Money Bag Shawty', 'Barbershop' (It was ridiculous and almost made snap and laugh simulataneously), 'Teddy Perkins' and 'FUBU'( Special episdoe of sorts where the general storytelling is shifted differently; Like it was for 'B.A.N' back in season 1). And as the season ended with 'Crabs in A Barrel', we got throwback references and a look at how far The paerboi crew have come and reaffirm their loyalties (which means stuff gon be alright for S3, at least as much as it can be in the Glover Brother & co. direction of the narrative ;p).
I really liked Hiro Murai's direction in the season, all more buoyed by the 'This Is America' official vidoe by Don Glove (Sounds like One Piece manga character; I can only hope someone drops into Eiichiro Oda's ears) which so much fun and felt like it was cut out of some Atlanta dream clip scene for Earn himself. The main cast is very good, spotlight on Zazie Beetz for landing Domino in Deadpool 2 and nailing the humor in it and Brian Tyree Henry who is actually a soulful siinger who attended Yale Drama School and sang 'We Can Always Come Back To This' in the tear-jerking TV show This Is Us. Darius is Darius is Darius (I know the actor has a name, is a succesful rapper but Darius, ya know). I would like to end with kudos to the writers for portraying so many social commentaries in an enjoyable and tactful manner and I look forward to the next season from your pens to our screens.

The subtext of this series is strong. One of the 2 best shows on television in the spring of 2018. Donald Glover does more reflection about American society in 22 minutes than most shows do in a whole season. Entertaining and unique storytelling with a minimalist brush.

I watched the entire season but it was a slog. Reviewer "AReedy" has it correct. Big drop from season 1, which was a gem in every way. But in season 2, Atlanta even sucked the humor out of comedian Katt Williams' performance and failed to produce anything close to Season 1's "Value" or the profound and funny jail scene in "Streets on Lock". This season felt like its better written but I enjoyed season 1 more. strong acting paired with top notch writing. I particularly enjoyed the laffy taffy episode with layers of hidden meaning, paralleling earns character and whats happening around him.the last 3 episodes of the season were particular memorable for me.

    Nearly perfect.

The first season of Atlanta had some of the best storytelling I've seen in a long time, with every character getting a chance to shine in episodes of their own or when they're all together. It was interesting, fresh and very well written. Atlanta's second season or Robbin' Season only improves. Once again we are given interesting and funny dialogue and cool intriguing

It was interesting, fresh and very well written. Atlanta's second season or Robbin' Season only improves.

Once again we are given interesting and funny dialogue and cool intriguing ideas, with the best one probably being the Theodore Perkins episode. I was hooked from the first episode and absolutely loved the chemistry between these actors. And like in the first season, this time every major character gets an episode of their own once again, making everyone feel important and interesting. Although it still feels like Donald Glover's character Earn is the main character.

Up until the eighth episode I was sure that if the last three episodes are this good, this season is going to get a 10/10, and right on cue comes episode nine, which is bad. The whole episode feels like filler. Earn and the crew escape this party and stumble upon another one, and I was bored. I wasn't feeling the "humor" at all. It sucked. It did not feel like Atlanta and was just straight up skip-worthy. It's somewhat saved by a conversation between Earn and Paper Boi but just barely. There was also this character, Tracy, who sucked and I was finally hoping for him to get justice as the show seemed very self-aware about it but even that was f*cked over.

Episode 10 and 11 were a lot better fortunately. Episode 10 wasn't perfect as the whole episode focuses on childhood Earn and the acting was pretty bad, but it was definitely better. And gladly after that comes episode 11, the final episode, which was fantastic and felt like Atlanta again. It had some satisfying conversations to wrap up plots between characters and a fantastic ending. I loved it.

Overall, you definitely shouldn't miss this show. It's original, funny and constantly intriguing. Without the ninth episode this would've been a 10/10

The character development and stories themselves are all so incredibly great bar one or two episodes which are still good. Teddy Perkins and North of the Border are definitely the two best episodes of the show in my opinion.

Glover has conceptualized Atlanta so that he can do with it whatever he wants; he’s not bound by traditional sitcom rules or limitations. That’s the fun of it. It’s his ride, and where he goes is anyone’s guess. But it will be worth the trip.

Atlanta Season 2 is funny. The laughs are often as unexpected as they are uncomfortable, and the series delights in pushing you to the edge before dropping an unexpected punchline. ... But Atlanta’s oddness is its greatest strength. It’s a show that feels as hard-to-define as its characters; what seems easy to explain on the surface gets messy and complicated upon further examination.
