A highly entertaining and informative doc. For those who were raised during the Odyssey, Atari, Intellivision era, it really brings back the memories. 5 weeks to create an entire game??? Pretty incredible. Props to Warsaw on that achievement. There are FAR worse games than ET.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Interesting movie for those who have owned an Atari VCS however the end of the movie was confusing. Did they find only one box of the game or all the copies that were supposed to have been dumped by Atari there? Expand

I found this documentary to be very interesting and amusing. Great amount of information and all within a short time frame, including but not limited to the history on the company itself, the people (employees) gaming and unfortunate outcome it had on one particular person (scapegoat).

Penn’s film is far more compelling when it sticks to the history lesson and stays out of the dump.

Atari: Game Over doubles as an entertaining profile of E.T. designer Howard Scott Warshaw. [17/24 Apr 2015, p.105]
