The central partnership between Alex Drake (Hawes) and Gene Hunt (Glenister) is arguably still not quite as entertaining as the one between Gene Hunt and Sam Tyler but the pair certainly have good on screen chemistry. The ongoing mystery of why Drake has found herself in the 1980’s also remains intriguing and the week to week cases remain as well written as ever.
