The show has potential. The cast is strong and I think that Rashida Jones and Jere Burns are both great casting decisions. However, right now the jokes are hit or miss and often over the top resulting in a childish and stupid show. However, I will keep watching and hope that the writing improves. As it stand I think Hoffman is my favorite character.

Hilarious! Silly old-fashioned, slapstick comedy. Refreshing from what is considered comedy now a days. Its not preverted or loaded with sex & drugs. Turn your brain off, relax & escape the stress of the day. Im so happy i discovered it. Loaded with goofy humor. Watch a few episodes. I bet you will laugh throughout.

After a satire of tough female role and blatant product placement in just five minutes, it's clear that Angie Tribeca doesn't follow normal procedural rule, or any coherent rule for that matter. However, it does follow in the footstep of Naked Gun, while this is nice since the slapstick comedy hasn't had any addition for a while, there are some lingering crude moments that might just be too unsavory for the comedy to properly work.

This is a psychical comedy in heart, mocking the cop shows in an unapologetic fashion. Honestly, it's rather expected that a parody of CSI and the likes would appear. Angie Tribeca has some good moments, it's nice to see this kind of brash humor once in a while. The nifty parts offer funny approach and commentary of the typical more serious shows, a few surprising guest stars like Lisa Kudrow or Alfred Molina is oddly appreciated.

The main problem is the jokes used are heavy-handed and repetitive. This might be fine if said jokes hit the mark, something like the bits with the dog might be fun to watch, but if it fails then audience is left with one or two long minutes of seeing the same joke ham-fisted over and over again. Most of the humor comes from physical, played in the exaggerated manner to draw any interest or attention, but also inconsistently thrown out there.

Angie Tribeca mainly has a few ideas of humor and shoots them wildly and eccentrically. When it hits, it could be highly entertaining, but if it doesn't audience is left with graceless drunken exhibition of slapstick, but the all-in attitude might just work in their favor.

I found this show freaking hilarious and I highly recommend it if you just want to watch a goofy, laugh out loud, comedy. It is like watching The Naked Gun movies or the movie Airplane, that is the kind of humor it is meant to be, so don't take it too seriously. Just Laugh!

I've always been a fan of The Naked Gun movies, and this show is just like the movies. The whole cast is great, specially Jones, the show is so silly and that's what makes it hilarious, I know some people don't like that, but to them I say: your lost, lighten up and enjoy the show for what it is, I hope it keeps going for a long time.

"Airplane" humor. I simply adore it. This show cracked me up. I have not laughed like this in years. I was so excited and I am sincerely hoping for further episodes.

I'm loving this show so far. Love the 'Airplane'-style comedy. Truly absurd, random, ridiculousness ensues in every episode. Jones and her co-stars are tremendous.

The characters mainly set up pretty silly 3 stooges style personalities that don't work at all and they drag on a lot were you just want to scream OK I GET IT. I watched the recent kidnap episode and just could not enjoy it. I must admit the show has well written plots, that all I can say positively about it. The jokes are meh, the cast is ok, and the overall show is a major pass, you will get a chuckle probably every 3 episodes or not? I don't know the show just doesn't work guys. I wanted to like the show but it was just too hard. I think they bumped American Dad! back on Mondays for re-runs of this show at 9PM, woah, wow....oh ok

A blatant rip-off of Police Squad and its movie, Naked Gun, and a pretty poor rip-off at that.

Angie Tribeca was painfully boring. It wasn't funny. Groan-worthy, yes. Funny, no. I guess once you've seen a sight-gag police-oriented TV series and movie, you've seen them all. The odd thing is that I still enjoy watching Police Squad and Naked Gun. Maybe Angie Tribeca is just a

The sight gags are so obvious you can see them coming before they've set up the gag, the word play so pathetic I found myself cringing at every supposed 'pun'.

This show is not witty, or clever, or even slightly amusing. After 3 episodes, I have not smirked once, let alone laughed out loud, and I will laugh at almost anything.

According to Carell, there hasn't been a show like this since The Naked Gun. And judging from Angie Tribeca, it will put the absolute final nail in the coffin of this genre for good.

Thirty minutes of non-stop inanity and insanity that serves no purpose other than to make you laugh. Naked Gun-style has never been my kind of comedy, but Steve and Nancy Carell somehow make this low-brow humor work. And it really does just keep coming at you without a pause. No doubt this is one of those love it or hate it comedies and I can't help myself- I love it!

Oof. Not just a Police Squad clone, but a bad Police Squad rip-off that steals jokes from all over the place (as long as they were written 20+ years ago). So dated and poorly acted.

Shockingly bad, cheesy production, stupid script, it's just not funny at all. The gags seem like rip-offs of old movies that did a much better job of them. I like Rashida Jones but not enough to sit through an episode of this.

Don't expect any great plot or writing. It's low-brow all the way. It's just a great way to relax and get a smile on your face. If you like silly...maybe even "so-stupid -it's -funny" humor, give this a shot. So many gags in 22 minutes.

It's slapstick comedy, the kind The Naked Gun was renowned for. It's not for everyone and it isn't for me, I get tired of this kind of dynamic quite easily. But if it's the kind of thing you like, by all means watch this series and I'm sure you'll have a blast. I'm moving on to something else.

This was certainly not what I expected. It is blessed with a great and talented cast, and some talented writers and producers. But this kind of silly, over-the-top comedy doesn't work well in 2016. If you're looking to watch "Airplane" on TV each week, congratulations. Otherwise, this feels like a miss.

Im a fan of Rashida Jones so was looking forward to this but I'm confused; does Carell have an agreement with the guys behind Police Squad and Airplane to blatantly rip of their material without fear of being sued? The jokes aren't just similar in a homage kind of way; they are the same. The thing is, only Leslie Neilson and the cast of Police Squad did it so much better.

I'm a big fan of Steve Carell and i really wanted to like it but i really don't like this show. Whichever way you look at it's just not funny. Naked Gun and Police academy were funny more than 20 years ago. That type of humour has no punch anymore it's too predictable.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Achieves exactly what it was going for! A sitcom-cheeseball-confusing-hilarious rollercoaster of a show. The fast-paced puns being thrown at you really do grow on you, and the humor so lovable. I love how the show takes advantage of the fact that it doesn't have to make sense, and it only brings everything to the next level... at least most of the time. Although the uncalled for revelations and randomly found evidence are what makes the show special, a good example of when it falls through is in the season 3 finale. At that point, you've grown attached to the characters or whatever. and you like the overall mystery of the season. Then they pull the none of it was real sequence?!?!? That is what pulls 2 points for me then Tribeca says "Just don't think too hard." It was so unsatisfying and it makes me feel like there's nothing more to this show but gags; hopefully, there's more in store for next season. Expand

There are a lot of well-worn cop commonalities in entertainment, but five hours of episodes, with wall-to-wall jokes targeting cliches big and small, makes one wonder if the series will have to change course soon, either in Season 2 or later down the line (assuming it gets picked up by TBS). It's certainly not an issue in Season 1, and the depth of knowledge on display actually leads to believing in the series' endurance.

This sitcom’s battering ram of madcap inanity can run aground when a particular episode doesn’t have an especially memorable storyline, and perhaps Angie Tribeca caters too much to an audience in thrall to the old “Airplane!” style of so-broad-it-hurts humor. From the 1980s’ “Sledge Hammer!” to the more recent “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” smart-aleck cop comedies are nothing new. But in its minute-to-minute pleasures, Angie Tribeca is one big goofy grin of a sitcom. Season 2 can’t come quickly enough.
