Having learned off Buffy’s death, Angel finds he has no time to mourn as a pregnant Darla makes her way to L.A, claiming that he is the father. And not all of his friends are as supportive as he may have hoped...

This third season makes full use of the shows great cast of supporting characters giving them each a chance to shine and develop, and of Whedon’s signature style of course

New characters means lots of fun for this TV junkie. Lorne is a stroke of genius, while Fred offers some triangular love issues. Gun is still awesome, as is Wesley.

Season 3 is praised and I see why but for me it is not as good as for others. We have good story arcs for Fred, Wesley, Cordelia and Angel. With Holtz we get an interesting character with a backstory and motivations you can relate. He has my sympathies and disdain at the same time (Yes that is possible). I will also say he could be used better at the end of the season. Connor is aSeason 3 is praised and I see why but for me it is not as good as for others. He has my sympathies and disdain at the same time (Yes that is possible). I will also say he could be used better at the end of the season. Connor is a character I wont spoil much information. Overall while a good idea I find his character uninteresting here. Sahjhan on the other hand was great. His true motivations are unclear early on. The reveal is brilliant but it is borderline to be a huge disappointment. We had many good discussions about it. Also he delivers an enjoyable performance Another character from Angels past came back and delivered the game changer of the season. The chemistry and interactions are a plus for this season. Wolfram & Hart our favorite devilish law firm delivers again but have less screen time in this season (or it felt that way. Lilah is as good as always. Lets go to my favorite episodes. The first episode Heartthrob has the motive what would you o to avenge your loved ones (forshadowing) and a shocking reveal at the end. Old Gang of Mine shows how Gunn has evolved and the dangers of magic protections without careful thoughts also Double or Nothing does a lot for him. Billy has some interesting reveals about our characters. Sleep Tight is the accumulation of Wesleys struggles. This season he had an awesome arc. I am not sure how I would act if I were him. That is the beautiful and sad dilemma. Birthday is Cordelias episode and shows what would be without her. It has a hidden implication that becomes important later on. The final episode Tomorrow has shocking ending and a twist. Overall I am not sure why this is not a 10/10 season for me. It makes no mistakes and the story arcs are good. Maybe it has to much sad moments for the characters (and me). Expand

The new season of Angel is both Batman-dark and sly fun. What began as an awkward Buffy spin-off now has, under the guidance of exec producer David Greenwalt, its own tone, embodied by Boreanaz's relaxed L.A.-hipster vampire-detective: He's become the Dean Martin of bloodsuckers, and I mean that as a compliment.
