Bad and “woke” in the worst possible way. Don’t bother. Too many extra characters that bring nothing.

Ms. Parker is, as always, centred in her grief and confusion, while Miranda is freed from her previous life of rigid expectations and permitted an idiotic girl crush - and let's not forget that every episode feels the need to underline that Charlotte is married to a Jew - baking chala, preparing for her daughter's bat mitzvah, serving shabbat dinner - WTF! But over the next few episodes, I found that I really enjoyed the characters and their storylines. I'm so glad they didn't try to exactly recreate SATC - it just wouldn't work for women in their 50's. I'm enjoying every episode more and more and if you were a fan of the show, give it a chance. Shallow, trite, contrived, preachy, obvious, boring, and frustrating. Almost opposite of the old Sex and the City show.

They ruined one of the greatest series of all time by making it Woke and full of Grief! The original was full of Love and comedy! It couldn’t feel like a bigger insult to the original work

Classless garbage, it gets a one because maybe some people will look up some oldies and classical music. Possibly remember a better time before this country started turning to garbage. The acting was abysmal. I believe there is a time and a place for things. This show was supposed to be fun and it was anything but. I won’t lie my expectations were to high. After Wonder Woman and everything else HBO max has produced I shouldn’t be surprised that an old classic just got peed on. Expand

Generally horrid, save for the expected haute fashion and interior design tutorial. The original was funny and relatable. The only thing relatable about this zombie is a weekly reminder that overly woke people are annoying and depressing.

This reboot is awful.
It is PC pandering and box-ticking at its finest.
The glory days of HBO are over Oz, The Sopranos, The Wire, Luck, Boardwalk Empire etc etc are gone.
The cast are tired, old and phoning it in for a pay day, none of them are relevant any more.
Kudos to Kim Cattrall for maintaining some dignity by distancing herself from this abortion.
The writing is completely against type and the original characters would be ashamed of what they have become.
Be careful HBO you are losing the battle against some incredibly tough competition in the pay-TV market and if this is all you have stick to re-runs.

Sixteen minutes into the first “preview” episode. Ugh. For some context, I watched and loved the original series, and suffered through the films — as unbearable as they were at times — so for me to flat out give up on this is serious. I had hoped this would be my new lunchtime show, but I’d rather re-watch the original than suffer this woke wannabe trainwreck. Two points given for SJPs emduring style and sass, but when is Hollywood going to wake up and realize that the ham-fisted SJW tropes are painful even for those who champion race and gender equality... how do they think it plays to the others who could give a **** about probouns or black hair? Over it. Expand

For everyone complaining about how this is now woke, go back and watch the original series. It always was. It was just pinned under the surface. This series just dispenses with all the pretense.

They quickly deal with the absence of Samantha (Kim Cattrall, who declined to return) and even keep her presence on the edges. The women are all in their 50s, so jokes about age are plentiful. There’s also lots of time dealing with social consciousness, which includes the welcome addition of several non-white, non-straight women. (Also, sad to see Willie Garson, as Carrie’s gay best friend, in 3 episodes before the actor died.) Natch, there are fab fashions, but the cool lifestyle moments and sexy situations have receded for now (perhaps more will develop). So far, it’s a comfortable reboot and time will tell if it still can stimulate and surprise. (This review is based on the first 2 shows with additional episodes launched every Friday.) Expand

I think this series is a wonderful update to SATC. The characters have been allowed to grow and mature and deal with the real life issues of fifty-somethings (it would have been awful if they'd all stayed exactly the same as in SATC). TheI think this series is a wonderful update to SATC. The characters have been allowed to grow and mature and deal with the real life issues of fifty-somethings (it would have been awful if they'd all stayed exactly the same as in SATC). The result is storytelling that's in equal measure laugh out loud funny and heartbreakingly sad -- and always more gritty and real than SATC. I don't get all the "woke" criticism on this page, as Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte seem confused and dismayed by the wokeness they see around them. I see the series as a criticism of wokeness.

The show took a little time to get into, but gets better and better with each episode. I love it.

The show is great! Maybe they couldn’t capture the whole thing, like the events that happened where not as glamorous as expected, let’s face it, they are not in their 30’s anymore so for a follow up, it was great!
