    Ouch. Used to be a fan of Amy, but this was a very cringey special. At some point her set ups stop working, because you know the joke will probably end with "I have a lot of sex."

    Self-deprecation about weight and looks based on standards she claims not to subscribe to. We've heard it already. Not smart. I still deeply appreciate her though.

    Did she even prepare a set? She sounded like any drunk girl at a bar. Profoundly DULL and unfunny. Nowhere near the level of quality of her TV show. She is going to alienate her fans if she continues this way.

    I've liked Amy in the past. A lot. But I could not relate to a single thing she said in this 60 minute gross-out session. I was bored by this special. Some of her jokes did not make sense. How did she know her special lady parts had an offensive odor? Is she limber enough to stick her head down there? Or was the smell strong enough to clear an elevator? If it's that bad, somebody needs toI've liked Amy in the past. A lot. But I could not relate to a single thing she said in this 60 minute gross-out session. I was bored by this special. Some of her jokes did not make sense. How did she know her special lady parts had an offensive odor? Is she limber enough to stick her head down there? Or was the smell strong enough to clear an elevator? If it's that bad, somebody needs to get tested for an infection. In the last 40 years I have had zero female friends mention having a vagina odor problem. 100 women surveyed. Survey says . . . XXX. I hung in there despite this rough start, but things never got better. Amy was not funny. Which makes me sad because I love to laugh. I'm old enough to have seen Bill Hicks live in a tiny club. The drinking jokes are getting old, too. Blackout jokes apropos of nothing fell flat. I hope she sobers up, grows up, and retools her act. She even burped loudly! I spent some time with my neighbor's 3 year old grandson this morning, and he did the same thing, right before he told me he had to poop and I handed him back to Grandma.… Expand

    Unorganized and sloppy presentation of material. Relies on shock factor and self deprecation to get a reaction from the audience and doesn't bring anything remotely interesting to this special. Really dumb

    Sadly for true fans of comedy, Amy seems content resting upon her laurels. Now famous and successful, it's as if little effort is required to please her core base who will continually laugh at material once edgy, shocking and quite funny but now simply disappointing. Amy's set included excessive time on her smelly vagina, diarrhea and cum shooting. Between sex and body comedy sheSadly for true fans of comedy, Amy seems content resting upon her laurels. Now famous and successful, it's as if little effort is required to please her core base who will continually laugh at material once edgy, shocking and quite funny but now simply disappointing. Amy's set included excessive time on her smelly vagina, diarrhea and cum shooting. Between sex and body comedy she mentioned the tragic shooting of two women at a theater showing her movie. Again, instead of making a connection with the audience, she simply implied gun owners were stereotypically all hillbillies living in trailers and the law allowed blind people to buy guns. She then concludes that if she can talk about men shooting cum upon her breasts then she could talk about guns. I once heard Patton Oswald talking about a set he did at a casino in which he merely had to stand on the stage and the crowd went wild. He didn't even have to tell one new joke; the fans just loved seeing him. Miss Schumer, it seems, has discovered this truth already. If this had been her first set, she would be unknown. On stage she talked about a man trying to shoot cum upon her moving hand. Let's just all hope Amy Schumer doesn't continue to miss the mark and remembers her salad days (well, salad with pasta on top) and gets back to being the great comic we all know she can be.… Expand

    I love stand-up comedy but this was just horrid. The audience barely laughed. She really needs to spend more time writing jokes that are funny and not just about female anatomy. I used to like her a lot but now she is just pandering to the Tumblrina crowd and it's just not worth anyone's time.

And I'm no prude Sex,race etc humor is fine as long as it's funny (and perhaps socially enlightening). Thought her previous special "Mainly Sex Stuff" was great. But "Leather" is horrible. Audience had the same reaction: smatterings of light laughter, but don't remember even one outbreak of applause or ovation. So bad, I actually paused this show half way through to watch Jim Gaffigan's "Cinco" (very funny - and BTW family-friendly clean). Saw the second half later, but it was no better.
    Like i said, I've been a Scumer fan since before she was really famous, but over the last couple of years she seems to let her success go to her head in a lot of ways and has stopped really trying. "Leather" is very indicative of that.    … Expand

    The last time I saw that much leather it was still on the cow. She's never been too impressive... replete vulgarity, sort of like a white, female Martin Lawrence; probably a big turn-on for the low-information audience, but I tend to enjoy comedy that tries a little harder. She's one of those acts that'll be gone long before anyone really notices.

    I liked Amy's earlier stuff but this special lacked the "special" OK we get it you have a loose vagina and can be just as vulgar as the next guy but make it funny. This wasn't funny it was a flop and torture to sit though...well skimmed through after 15 mins of the same vagina joke. This routine is more evidence that Schumer is a one trick pony. Don't blame twitter trolls blame the lame act.

    I was so disappointed in this program and the gross words that come out of this woman's mouth that I even cancelled Netflix. Why would they let someone so vulgar have a program. She is not funny. She is not nice to look at and she is plainly rude. The program was horrible!

    I never came close to cracking a smile. Five minutes of discussing her privates and its smell made me realise why she doesn't get much. It did not get better. If you want to watch a plus size female talk dirty in a boring and seriously non-funny way, then this is for you. After 20 minutes, I had enough and wanted to look for reruns of campaign speeches.

    It could have been one of the most unfunny stand up routines ever. I used to love Amy when her original show started. She had some awesome writers on her staff I guess. Because now, we are seeing the real Amy Schumer, and and she is NOT funny. And by the way, the joke stealing rumor still continue, and they are even evident in this one.     I love raunchy edgy and dark comedy but this fits in all categories except under comedy. The crowd overreacts to sub-par amateur comedy premises. Just dirty topics with no real pay-off. To add insult to injury the audience freaks out over it. It's a very surreal and strange set, if you want comedy turn away.

    I am open to different comedians stand up and I'm not a troll. I respect Amy Schumer for trying to make me laugh but she didn't. When I go to see comedy I want to laugh, Amy couldn't even make me chuckle. All of her jokes are self centered and her sex jokes are only funny for those who laugh at sex jokes and only sex jokes. The minimal variety of jokes and her self centered style ofI am open to different comedians stand up and I'm not a troll. I respect Amy Schumer for trying to make me laugh but she didn't.     I and my girlfriend sat down to watch this. For the entire hour, I didn't chuckle once. My girlfriend chuckled 2 or 3 times. This was a nasty pig in a GLAD bag talking about doing sex with the men, having explosive diarrhea on a date, cracking a holocaust joke as a segway from taking a money shot on her breasts and comparing her vagina's smell to farm animals. There was nothing clever,I and my girlfriend sat down to watch this. For the entire hour, I didn't chuckle once. My girlfriend chuckled 2 or 3 times.     Amy Schumer used to be very funny. What happened? This was a lazy effort on her part. I thought a lot of the jokes fell flat and it seemed the audience was not that thrilled either. Just a bad special.

    It really is as bad as you hear, don't bother. The funniest thing about the entire special is how uncomfortable she looks in that outfit. Save yourself an hour and just imagine Miss Piggy in a gimp suit telling 4th grade level jokes about vaginas. That's it.

    Nothing new here., same material as her last special. It has been all downhill since 2015's Trainwreck. There is nothing really funny when she describes how nasty her female parts smell, just juvenile/grade school humor. If her upcoming "Snatched" movie bombs, she will become a mere footnote in comedy...

    Amy was at her best in the Seinfeld show Comedians In Cars etc, because Seinfeld was in it and he's naturally funny and can write, but he should have hauled her away in the trunk while he had the chance. Thanks for nothing, Jerry.

    Well for starters I try not to allow other people's thoughts and ratings get in the way while attempting to watch certain shows for the first time. I go in not knowing how it's going to be and come out with my own thoughts about it. Which is the best way to truly enjoy something in my opinion because you're not sitting through the whole show expecting it to be bad. Now    Where to start?

Now you may look at my score for Amy Schumer: The Leather Special and assume I'm some type of "troll" trying to spread hate for the comedian. I understand. Most people when they enjoy a movie,game, etc they want to protect it by fighting back any negative thoughts others will have.

    But do try to understand not everyone will share the same opinions as you. After all that's what makes us human and unique in some way and I personally think negative reviews we will all receive in life one way or another will help us grow and better ourselves in the future for success. If you ignore what's bad about your work sooner or later you might fail as people will seek better actors,products,etc.
    So I hope Amy Schumer learns from what people have to say and improve her work down the road.

    Now when I first watched Amy Schumer: The Leather Special I was expecting it to be decent. A 3/5 stars at best. Usually what most comedy stand up shows will be gaven from me on Netflix other than Dave Chappelle was a 4/5 and Gabriel lglesias was a 5/5. Because their shows was like a roller coaster ride of laughter with some cool down parts to relax and enjoy the story they have to say.
    With The Leather Special it felt like I was on a kiddie ride with a person sitting next to me complaining how bad her junk smelled or anything to do with her sex life every 20- 45 seconds Which as a guy,I don't enjoy to hear. It's not funny but cringeworthy. Did not find the show amusing one bit. I even had to restart the special and ask my wife to watch it to see if it was just a male thing and she find the show gross and the way Amy tries to react a scene is weird.
    Also each new bit she starts is related to what she was saying minutes ago which the jokes doesn't stick.. She brought nothing new to the table. Now most people can pull sex jokes,and Amy may have been able to do it in the past but this time around I think she needs to work on her jokes and be more prepared next time.    … Expand

    I am a big fan of Amy Schumer, but was really disappointed in the leather special. It was really just a re-hashing of the same themes from her earlier specials.

    Write some new content Amy - your fans want something to laugh at, not something we laughed at already in 2015.

    how can someone be so arrogant while making so many self deprecating jokes. Jokes are just not good enough and kind of old, watch any 5 of her interviews in 2015 and 2016 and that is basically the entire special.

    Terrible! Not funny. Not a single joke made me chuckle in this special, it was like I was waiting for the punchline the whole time. The special was just all about how gross her vagina is, fat, slut, whore, fat, slut, and gross vagina. Amy's comedy doesnt really age well.

    Disappointing that this special was so overloaded with sex jokes, (and I'm a Jim Norton fan FFS) I like them but it was so quick fire you could see almost every punchline coming. Her last special was much better, this routine seemed rushed and very repetitive, I've seen worse but not from her.....this was bad....reeeeeeal bad, sure her next one will be better.

    Most reviewers have already stated what I believe and that is Amy Schumer, once an amusing comic, has lost her ability to make (at least me) laugh. Either she better hire new writers or come up with new material on her own, otherwise she will disappear into the comic's graveyard...never to be heard from again.

It was like sitting in a locker room listening to a bunch of guys trying to see who could be the most vulgar.     The most embarrassing part about this special is that Schumer performed in front of thousands, thousands that didn't even so much as chuckle.
    She appeared drunk and desperate to make any joke stick as she meandered from joke to joke. There was just no finesse.
    She should rename her special to Amy Schumer: Awkward, Embarrassing and worst of all, Un-funny.

Tonight I watched Amy Schumer and I have to say that her material was nowhere near as smart as those other ladies'. It was not only not smart, but it was also stale and soulless (despite a bit about the two girlfriends who got shot at a Trainwreck screening).     I used to like Amy a lot but this is definitely her worst work. She stole a lot of her jokes too. I was able to recognize at least 2 jokes used before by other comedians. I believe Metacritic's score is extremely inaccurate. The user reviews completely contrast them.

    Libertarian here... this is not a politically motivated review... Big fan of Amy Schumer, but this concert was just not up to par. Shocking just doesn't always mean funny. Maybe some "Trolls" were invested knocking her, but every fan who watched knows this was not her best work. Watch Amy Schumer's Comedy Central Show or Trainwreck if you want to laugh and experience how good her timing can be.

    She seemed awkward and unsure of herself. I usually find Amy hilarious but not today. You'd think now that she's rich and famous she could take her time and write something hilarious and thoughtful. Each show should be better than the last. Hopefully she'll learn from this. The leather special was not funny and not worth watching.

    If you're a fan of comedy, this isn't for you. I'll be honest, I didn't watch most of it. I got through about 15 minutes before I had to shut it off. I don't mind the sex jokes, but when they are not funny, it makes them just seem gross.

    One can only hope her career is over.

    I love Amy Schumer, I was anticipating this special. Sadly, it was sort of a one-note performance, the overlong jokes lacked punch, About 15 minutes it was sounding phoned-in, I'm a fan and will stay one, she's usually a riot, but this special was tiring and lacked her usual spank.

I saw Dustin Diamond on stage, as terrible as he was, I'd rather sit through that again than this.     I don't know what the reviewers were watching, but Schumer was neither funny nor insightful. A huge swing and a miss. Maybe that is why none of the big premier pay channels would pick up this special. Netflix will have to do better in the future choosing streaming material.

    In the world of Joe Rogan, Dave Chappelle, Whitney Cummings, Louis CK, Bill Burr, Aziz Ansari, Hart, Gaffigan, Burress, Gervais, and Silverman, this special is a huge waste of time.

    GO WATCH: We Are Miracles by Sarah Silverman if you want to see a hilarious, intelligent, classy woman do amazing comedy that transcends any other show in a unique Silverman way. (P.S. I don't 100% agree with either of these women, but I respect Sarah's convictions and comedy 100x more.)

I hope that she can let her material mature and take on some more sophisticated nuances. She is very talented and funny so it is a little disappointing seeing her take the safe route with this special. It's okay to not always be the train wreck.     To be honest, I fell asleep about halfway through this. It's that boring. What isn't impotent attempts at shock or gross-out "comedy" seemed to me to be jokes poached from other comedians. Watching your toenails grow is more entertaining and less off-putting than this bucket of pit-bull drool.

This special is definitely the worst of her work so far. She's absolutely amazing on the Comedy Central roasts and has lots of funny stuff on her sketch show. And this special *is* being unfairly targeted by losers. But when you get to the bottom of it, this just isn't that funny. Schumer actually dodges a bullet because she can scapegoat this mediocre effort by blaming politics.… Expand

    She’s absolutely as funny as she was two years ago, which was pretty darn funny. But the humor--most of it revolving around sex, body issues and relationships--feels dated.

    Ironically, the dirtier it gets, the less daring it feels. Part of the problem is that she doesn’t drop in enough context from her life of late, and the material feels like it could have come from a set three years ago.

    It's pretty much 85 percent sex jokes. The good news is that all the sex jokes are very funny! And even when Schumer turns her attention elsewhere, she still kills it. [10 Mar 2017, p.62]
