American horror story falls in the same pit that many horror films falls in these days. It's more about setting the mood than about the story, which means it's not much of a story. Some of the seasons are better than others but I have seen enough to tell that the main purpose of the show is to make watcher either disgusted or scared at the same time. While the show has been well made, the plot is what ruins the show for me. It's the same typical horror genre plotline that has been very usual in the last 20 years. If you are in for the spooks then watch this. If it's the plot that intrests you, well, I'd look from somewhere else.… Expand

My favorite tv show, but I miss seasons like Asylum.
Asylum is the pinnacle of AHS, everything is just perfect in this season. It's hard to reach perfection always, but despite some slips the show is still a good pastime for me and those whoMy favorite tv show, but I miss seasons like Asylum.

American Horror Story is an Incredible serie. The 8 seasons are very good but Freak Show (season 4), Roanoke (season 6) and Cult (season 7) are very poor and boring but Asylum (season 2) and Hotel (season 5) are amazing so it deserves an 8

Love the show, but this is the worst season by a long shot. Great 80s scenes and music, but the story falls flat. One of the best series ever, full of twists and turns and an effective plot. My favorite seasons and for me the best ones are obviously "Freak Show", "Coven" and "Asylum"

I believe this TV show is amazing throughout. I've been watching it since around when Coven was released and I haven't stopped watching. I think every season brings a great and intriguing story. American Horror Story grabs its audience's attention by casually rehashing previous horror themes and settings... but with twists. With each season doing its own, unique thing, there's no denying how perplexed most of the series' characters are.

The season was alright, but what makes it a 3/10 for me is the CONSTANT and blatant sexism the show has developed. Cult had a bit of it, but this season...after episode 3 almost EVERY SINGLE LINE was "men are worthless, women should rule the world".
Equality is a great thing, but it goes both ways. You can't preach about equality while writing incredibly sexist dialogue, like for example: "I have humored you men, but in no way does that mean you actually have a say". Throughout the series men are portrayed as powerhungry idiots who are constantly wrong and the only man who is portrayed as smart is the one who tries to ask the women for help. If there were characters who had these ideas it would be fine, but it's the fact that as i said, almost EVERY LINE has some of this stuff in it at some point in the season and it's clear that the show doesn't know how to do feminism without telling men they suck. It was just so frustrating to watch. I'm a man and i don't really enjoy being told what a **** piece of **** i am constantly while watching something i really wanted to enjoy...… Expand

The first few seasons were totally non-political, and very entertaining. Now it is exactly the reverse.… Expand

The serie was good until the 3rd season, in the fourth loss of essence, in the fifth I am seeing with sodium strength, I hope that the next ones will change my opinion. I am from the Brazilian specialized critic.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'd say that it's one of the best shows i've ever seen, But some seasons are really really boring such as hotel, but that does not mean that they're bad.
However, some seasons are better than the other ones, impressive acting by actors such as the timeless Kathy Bates, jessica Lange and, The talented Lily Rabe and we can't forget about the dexterous Sarah Paulson.
And of course, the guest pop star Lady Gaga, this show gave her a chance to prove that shes a real great actress.
So murder house is a depressing and glommy season not that great but it's like the root of half of the issues in the other seasons too.
Asylum, possibly the greatest and scariest one, with sarah paulson's phenomenal acting and Jessica's it felt real, lots of backstabbing characters and lots of cool stuff, i'd say ahs at it's best.
Well, coven was a great season if people just died and didn't come back to life.
Freakshow, not disappointed nor glad about this season, it's really good the acting, the emotions, the way evan nailed his character is so amazing.
Hotel, Bloodsuckers, an old hotel made by a serial killer, boring and long, but also really great like at the beginning and the ending.
Roanoke, an underrated season overhated, it's confusing at some parts but really Spectaculating, my favorite.
Cult, the realest, the truth of politics.
Apocalypse is a hugeeeee mess except for the episode where they go back to the murder house, brings lots of memories, such a messy season though.
1984, is okay i suppose, serial killers and stuff, but it doesn't really feel like the 80's.
Double feature, well for red tide... Pretty sure its okay the ending is so rushed and confusing, Death valley is the worst, so rushed, confusing and really not even a season, its literally 4 episodes and the ending is unexplained.… Expand
