    This season has the most plot and the least scary. This season we explore the happenings of a coven. The actors, as always are just so entertaining in their roles, very strong. The theme of oppression could of been slightly better, (especially considering there were no black actors as main cast, despite that a message of the show is that oppression bad) - Angela Bassett should have beenThis season has the most plot and the least scary.     Essa temporada é bem inventiva, pois traz a rainha do Vodu 'Marie Laveau'    Cheia de histórias loucas de terror, uma das melhores séries de Ryan Murphy vemos a a história do Coven de Fiona Goode, uma bruxa que se recusou até o fim da sua vida à escolher a nova suprema, tarefa bem difícil a ela que queria sua soberania para sempre, no final a coroa foi para... bem não irei dar spoilers.

    Essa temporada é bem inventiva, pois traz a rainha do Vodu 'Marie Laveau' para quem não sabe ela existiu de verdade, o que torna a série mais autêntica, o roteiro, a abertura (me dá medo toda vez), na trama é usado muita união feminina tirando a parte que Fiona corta a garganta de Madison, além do combate do racismo em uma cena época na qual Madame Lalaurie que também existiu de verdade, na cena ela estava decapitada, só com a cabeça consciente e foi obrigada a ver as marchas do ativismo racial, porém no fim não conseguiu mudar.
    A unicidade desta temporada é a riqueza do conteúdo, e pontuo também na diversidade de personagens como Cordelia Foxx, Fiona Goode, Madison Montgomery, Misty Day entre outros, vale a pena ver e rever essa season!    … Expand

    Season 3 is really the best season. Characters are engaging, story is interesting, and the mystery unfolds in an intriguing way. Easily the most satisfying, best written and most engaging season in the series. It's a shame that the last few seasons have been a regression in every way.

    The best AHS season by far. American Horror Story: Coven is exciting, entertaining and a bit scary at the same time. You fall in love with the characters easily and everything is just portrayed so well. DEFINITELY of the best tv shows i’ve watched.

    Melhor abertura de série que eu já vi na minha vida... Um elenco razoável, uma história boa, no entanto, alguns episódios serviram de "fillers". Foi uma pena não terem destacado mais o Kyle (Evan Peters) à volta daquele drama adaptado para bruxinhas.

    I am honestly dumbfounded that after the wicked Asylum season, this cheesy teenage hot garbage mess followed. Even the charm of Emma Roberts don't do this any better. One-liners from this season also tried to do magic but nah. Hot mess. Stopped watching the whole series after this one season.

    I really love the anthology setup for tv series like this. It allows a complete story to be told in a season, so there is no annoying cliff hangers that are never answered.     I really love the anthology setup for tv series like this. It allows a complete story to be told in a season, so there is no annoying cliff hangers that are never answered. It allows a good story to be told because there is a start, middle and end, and it is especially good because if you have an idea that doesn’t work for everyone as a story, then they can come back the next season and may find something they do like.

    We have gotten away from the even vague suggestions of aliens and abduction in this season. Here we are in New Orleans and the story is about a power struggle in a witch coven, while there is a war with a voudon priestess and her support with a mixing of witch hunters involved.

    Almost all of the cast is back, but they have added Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett. The acting has gone up several notches, even though there are some teen witch angst (but in a AHS style) and when you have Angela Bassett, Jessica Lange and Kathy Bates all in the same room the acting just soars.

    Pros: The biggest pro is the changing stories between seasons, followed by a more supernatural/witch feeling in this.

    Cons: Probably a little too much focus on teen witches, I understand why they did it but I am getting close to 50 and teen witch stories don’t do it for me.

    I will definitely follow up with Season 4 “Freakshow”.    … Expand

    Favorite season of American Horror Story, definitely. Love the roles of Sarah Paulson, Emma Roberts and Gabourey Sidibe. I don't understand why lots of people dislike it tbh.

    Worst of the seasons some decent episodes some decent story but the racism is ever present. Its so strange that the bastions of the left love to go on about how racism is bad only to see how that sentiment stops if you were born white. Replace every instance of white person or cracker with that black and n i g g e r and their heads would explode.

    Clever, stylish, and filled with unsettling imagery, American Horror Story: Coven changes things up a bit from the first two installments. And in a good way! Abordando o tema bruxas na atualidade, a atuação do elenco ficou impecável, a fotografia e os cenários também. A história dos caçadores de bruxas e do Minotauro poderiam ser mais bem aproveitadas, mas a história em si me encantou.     The worst season so far. The plot went no where, There was no character development, and by the middle of the season you simply wanted it to end. It's such a major drop off from the previous seasons.

    Stylish, full of memorable characters, and an engaging plot make Coven the best American Horror Story season yet. Jessica Lange and Sarah Paulson continue to impress while newcomers Gabourey Sidibe and Emma Roberts make welcome additions to the cast.

    Um tema como bruxas tem que ter um certo respeito a crença, falar sobre um estilo de vida ou religião é algo delicado essa temporada mostra que Coven não recebeu um certo cuidado ao falar das bruxas, a serie esta esborrando de clichê, bagunça e principalmente falta de ética. Para as bruxas é uma vergonha ver que tudo que tentamos mostrar o que não somos, é tudo que a midia continua aUm tema como bruxas tem que ter um certo respeito a crença, falar sobre um estilo de vida ou religião é algo delicado essa temporada mostra que Coven não recebeu um certo cuidado ao falar das bruxas, a serie esta esborrando de clichê, bagunça e principalmente falta de ética.     Emma Roberts/Chanel is the best thing ever when it comes to this season. Surprise, **** Unfortunately the rest of the season relies heavily on Kathy, Jessica, and Sarah's performances. No one cares about Precious or Zoe. Fiona seems to be heavily based on Madonna's quest for youth & her daughter is like Britney, useless with broken eyes (knees.)

    Every single season it's amazing. Ryan Murphy has done it again, **** amazing.
    This ones brings back Taissa Farmiga, and also enters Kathy Bates and Angela Basset.
    Besides the incredible amazing Oscar worth-it performance by Jessica Lange.

    This was clearly the worst season on AHS.. the whole season was like teen age drama... it lacked focus.. with so many thing happening simultaneously it screwed up everything... instead of trying to do so many many things if they kept the plot focused, it would have made sense...     My Lord, what happened to this previously fun show? This third season is something for teenage girls and nobody else. My wife and I endured the first show for about 20 minutes before looking at one another and essentially saying: Huh? We turned it off, and will not be returning. It seemed unfocused and written by amateurs, totally different from the first two seasons.

    It is beyond my comprehension how and why something so witty, dark and twisted as the second season got followed by a cheap teenage girl drama. Also, Farmiga and Roberts can't act... at all...

    Way better than first season, but not nearly as good as the secon one. Still quite good, still worth Your time. Especially thanks to Jessica Lange which was just avesome in this one.

    Because several episodes in; the story takes a turn and jumbles into this big, big, big mess. It kind of feels like the writers had no idea what the plot was, so, they just came up with it as they went a long. Plus, don't get me started on the great actors who were made to play terrible, terrible characters.

    Coven isn't that well written, not at all. But, the fun, the humor, the cheap scares, and the blood and guts make up for it!    … Expand

    Compared to the other seasons this season seems tame. I found myself skipping dialog to get to something interesting because it was so boring. It still has some surprises worth watching but just felt dull midway to the end of the season. I also am sick of seeing that old lady always being the "sexy one" it was interesting they decided to do that the first season but now its over played,Compared to the other seasons this season seems tame.     Season 3 turns the show from horror to teen-drama. It's definitely not horror in the slightest, and is much more thriller/action. This seasons story is probably the most cohesive story, one that doesn't have as many arcs and plot holes... but it still just doesn't feel complete. It's not nearly dark enough to actually give you any sense of dread in the atmosphere. It's just kind of... bland.

We live in the year 2014, yet the gruesome images I had to endure watching the opening of the 1st episode were sickening. Not sure if I'll watch the remaining episodes. KKK, slavery reminders and stereotypical images of women of color are key points in this season.… Expand

It seemed like the writers felt the need to attract 13 year old girls so they went **** by taking New Orleans voodoo stories and raped them by the eyes with some teenage **** like ostracising, having a boyfriend, being careful so you won't get gang raped etc... To be honest I wouldn't mind ifOkay... Season three sucks major dick. The whole **** season was a huge advertisement for tampons.     Just watched the series, it was good. One thing I really liked we getting to see Evan Peters butt, though I wish the banging he was doing was to Taissa Farmiga. But other than that, the story line was very boring. But still good, just hope for the next one "freakshow" to be a little more scarer and better.

    American Horror Story: Coven completely misses two of the three words in its main title; it isn't nearly scary enough to be considered "Horror" and it doesn't have any character through-line or plot to render it a "Story." This season is absolute garbage.

    Não entendo porquê tantas pessoas não gostam de Coven, claro, há escolhas tomadas de última hora completamente incoerentes, porém, o entretenimento ainda permanece, essa temporada é uma das melhores na minha opinião. O final é totalmente justificável e a vontade de saber o que irá acontecer ainda continua. Coven não é perfeita, mas é totalmente desnecessário detestá-la.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I've been following American Horror Story from Season 1: Murder House, and I have to say that Season 3: Coven was a bit of a disappointment. Season 2: Asylum was amazing but still not as good as Season 1, but Season 3 doesn't even come close to being as good as the other two. The ending was predictable, and from the past two seasons I would have guessed it would have ended as an edge-of-your-seat, cliff-hanger that left you asking questions and making up your own closing. This season didn't deliver that, which was more than disappointing. The plot was all over the place, and it was easy to forget what happened in each episode, leading to confusion in the following week's episode. Some aspects of this season were just plain weird, not even scary. For example, Taissa Farmiga's character, Zoe Benson, had a superpower that allowed her to kill her victims by having sex with them. It was just a really weird concept. However, I absolutely love the actors and actresses in American Horror Story. I love the way it's done in each season, using the same actors but creating different characters for them. That's always my favorite part at the beginning of each season, spotting a familiar face and connecting it back to a previous season. Jessica Lange never fails to amaze me with her unparalleled acting skills. Her character, Fiona Goode, was my favorite out of her three characters in each season. Jessica Lange manages to captivate you with the intensity she puts into her acting. Overall, this season wasn't great and didn't meet my expectations, but it wasn't bad. I'm still looking forward to Season 4: Freakshow.… Expand

    The first half was good, but the second half was "The Supreme" piece of junk that season two was. The first season was good, second got worse over time like the third season. Their was a sexiness and freakiness that the last two seasons didn't have much of.

    I was very pleased to American Horror Story Season 3, but unfortunately I'm a little frustrated. I do not like comedy. American Horror Story S3 but tends to be a comedy show for me. Annie Wilkes in Misery was really creepy, but here it has something of a clown. The trailers have promised more. The theme of witches has given away here completely.

    This being said, the season has the strongest overall narrative structure. By this point I believe Ryan Murphy has realized that the past few seasons had been rather predictable and successfully kept me guessing. This is the first season where I didn't guess every major plot point correctly. The general concept of the show revolves around a New Orleans coven of witches and the ascension of a new leader of there's, dubbed a Supreme, and the old Supreme's antics and refusal to give up her power. Unlike other seasons, the story comes across more like a political drama than an outright horror story.
    The acting is the strongest is has been throughout the entire seasons. Though it is criminal that Zachary Quinto did not return this season, the cast nailed it. Taissa Farmiga gave a much better performance than in the first season, along with Jamie Brewer. Sarah Paulson, Frances Conroy, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Denis O'Hare, and especially Jessica Lange deliver some of their best performances on the program. Other new cast members such as Emma Roberts, Angella Bassett, and the fantastic Kathy Bates deliver stellar performances, with Bates stealing the show.
    All this goes to create a fantastic product that just isn't scary. For me, this is not a large deal, but it may completely ruin it for some people, including a friend of mine. This season seems to have a large love/hate relationship, but I believe that if people manage their expectations and don't expect a 'horror story' this season, it is greatly enjoyable.    … Expand

    Best season of American Horror Story. The story is great. It's very hard not to get invested in the story and the characters. The acting is great and the special effects are fantastic. However, I didn't like what they did with some of the characters. A few of the characters barely ever spoke.     This season of American Horror Story kept to one plot line much better than previous seasons. Every single thing that happened clearly related to the plot and no event seemed random. That said, there were some unresolved moments and plot holes in the finale. Other than that however between the once again stellar acting and directing season 3 was a great season.

    Well...I have to say that season 3 of American Horror Story was corny as hell and the biggest piece of crap in comparison to the last two seasons. I sat through this entire season just hoping that at some point it would turn around, but it just got worse and worse and worse. The story started off promising, but turned out to be an epic failure. I'm not sure why they even bothered putting Evan Peters in this one. I'm not sure why Jamie Brewer can't ever make it an entire season, especially since she was one of the few likable characters in this season. They took the Stevie Nix thing waaaay too far, and even the damn background music lacked in depth. All they ever played was this little girl La La La La **** in the background non-stop. Jeez, not only did they get lazy with developing a decent story, but they even got lazy with the film score too! It's like they straight up didn't give a damn with this one. Oh well...Good riddance is all I can say. I certainly hope the next season helps to redeem the series, and helps me to forget about this lame-ass bloody tampon of a season.… Expand

    Decently thought out, really enjoyed the deeper meaning as they explored the role of women and oppression of minority groups though I do think the oppression could be better fleshed out. I liked the season and am still an avid fan of the show though I definitely think that there's room for improvement

    If not the best "American Horror Story" yet, it is one of the most compelling TV series ever made, and probably one of the best. It is funny, horrifying, disturbing and ver modern & stylish, loved every season, but "Coven" is the best, yet.

This season doesn't even feel like American Horror Story, I heard it was going to be a little different but holy s***.     This season is insanely boring. At this point who cares who is the supreme? The enemies keep changing, not enough action or scarines, season 2 the pinnacle of this show for me so far. Here's hoping to next season being better. Over it.

    This season has been the biggest disappointment for me so far. :( I was excited when Kathy Bates joined the cast but her character is very underwritten just like every other characters in this season. ugh it's just awful.

    With all the different kinds of characters the series really had a potential to deliver well balanced story. It reminded me the first season of "Heroes". But later on it all became a total mess (story and direction wise). Patti Lupone's religious nutt-job character and her son turned out to be complete throw away characters without any ultimate impact on the plot. What a waste. Kathy Bates character - wasted.     Dark. Macabre. Eerie. Deep. Weird. Perhaps that'd be the best way to sum up this amazing show. Murder House and Asylum are much better than Coven. Jessica Lange, Evan Peters and Lily Rabe are the grace of this show. I have rarely seen such refined acting and strong story-lines. The show really lives up to it's fame. I just hope that season 4 redeems the show.
    It's a must-watch.

    So far this season functions as a teenage girl drama. The plot is unfocused and sloppy and the dialogue is mediocre. The main problem is that this largely lacks the horror element.

Gabourey Sidibe has always been on my watch-list and Jamie Brewer's acting is improving compared to what she showcased on season 1. Taissa Farmiga, Emma Roberts, Jessica Lange, and Denis O'Hare are all doing their jobs well. Frances Conroy and Lily Rabe are indeed two very underrated actresses.     I can honestly say that I like this season more than last (season 1 was AMAZING) and I'm looking forward to every episode so that's a good thing, I couldn't get into last season past the first 2 episodes. The whole witch thing overall is getting old because everyone's doing it but this is twisted, of course, which makes it better than your average CW teen show.     Ryan Murphy once again proving he cant go wrong with AHS. I'm obsessed with this one, it has in my opinion the best opening of the series so far. Witches and Monsters, you got me on Ryan Murphy. The cast is fantastic as usual, the creeps, twists, EVERYTHING. Is American Horror Story people this gets better and better. Im a freak I know and I Love American Horror Story Coven NO REGRET.

But in my eyes, sexual violence is nothing that should ever be shown in any form of entertainment. Any story can always find an alternative route besides using that.     I liked the first episode but not enough to keep watching the series if I hadn't seen the first 2 seasons. I'm hoping the next few episodes will be more eventful because so far it is just Girl Drama: Witches Edition. For anyone who didn't like Coven I still recommend Asylum, and the first season.

    American Horror Story: Coven is back with a vengeance. Jessica Lang is perfect as always and is of course giving top notch acting. The addition of Cathy Bates, Gabourey Sidibe, and Emma Roberts are all great casting choices, and Kathy is perfect in the role she is given and the youth obsessed slave owner. Sarah Paulson also has a well received, well by me anyways, return to the thirdAmerican Horror Story: Coven is back with a vengeance. Jessica Lang is perfect as always and is of course giving top notch acting.     The camp factor is still really high, but unlike 'Asylum', 'Coven' has a compelling story to tell. The premiere was the best hour of 'AHS' that I've seen, and most importantly, it left me wanting more.

    I was worried that a third horror story would be a little to farfetched, however, I wasn't expecting any of what I saw. I'm a big fan since its genesis, and this installment looks like its gonna live up to its predecessors. I'm not skeptic to watch this at all. The cast, the story and the location look remarkable. Jessica Lange (as always) and Kathy Bates are just to die for.

This season has all the mystery and unsettling imagery you've come to expect from the series, while yet again creating a rich fictional world that is both dementedly fantastic and somehow believable.     I think this season has to have one of the best openers so far. Its chilling, gory and just so great. The cast is fantastic, and the opening scene really hooks you in.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I originally chose not to watch American Horror Story when it first aired in 2011 because a friend told me it has a rape scene in it. Just recently I learned from a friend that each season of the show is entirely disconnected and functions as a separate series, so I decided to check out the third season pilot tonight, Coven. At first it started out extremely disturbing but interesting. It's phenomenal cast kept me intrigued. However, 51 minutes into the pilot, Emma Roberts was ruffied and gang raped and they showed the whole thing. I literally felt sick to my stomach. Further, Robert's character shrugs it off as if nothing happened. Regardless of whatever else the show has to offer, I will not be watching it. I strongly condemn the use of sexual violence in entertainment media. It sickens me that writers capable of producing an entire vision resort to the objectification, destruction and torture of young women in order to entertain their viewing audience. As a feminist, a man, and lover of women, I strongly suggest anyone who shares these feeling boycott this show. Deplorable.… Expand

    I'm a big fan of this show since the beggining and this season is going to be kickass like the last one and this new cast has is just amazing, i am so glad it's back.

    Best series opening of the Autumn thus far, strong cast especially from Lange, who's always been the figurehead of this anthology series strong script, perhaps occasionally over-stylized at parts yet all together I loved it.
