    Typical American prime time TV game show crap. The idea is an old one (see: The Block -which is great BTW) and hardly lives up to the original. I felt like I was watching a politically correct beeyotchfest (usual suspects in that area).. meh. moving right along.

    Unlike the heavy criticism so far, I actually thought this was a nice home makeover show. Perhaps because I'm a major sucker for this kind of premise. The drama every week was unnecessary though. You can't root for most of the contestants because most of them have been painted really badly by the editors (knowing how reality shows go) or maybe this pick of contestants are just an awfulUnlike the heavy criticism so far, I actually thought this was a nice home makeover show. The 1 week time cap on each episode is ridiculous but getting to the end where the homes are revealed is the main reason I tune in every week. The transformation is unbelievable and I loved every minute of it. In fact, seeing who has to go home each week leaves you in suspense right till the announcement because all the contestants are just really talented.… Expand

    This show was a huge disappointment. Nate is extremely disappointing as a judge. His only internet appears to be experiencing something shocking & different. He never took into consideration, any home owners opinion to how they liked any of the renovations done. Lukas has only a "museum" style of design skills. His designs are only good to look at, but have no comfort or functionality.This show was a huge disappointment. Nate is extremely disappointing as a judge. His only internet appears to be experiencing something shocking & different. He never took into consideration, any home owners opinion to how they liked any of the renovations done. Lukas has only a "museum" style of design skills. His designs are only good to look at, but have no comfort or functionality. Jay's design took into consideration, modernizing the existing look, yet appealing to the homeowners tastes. That to me, is the skill of a true American Dream Builder. Thus show missed the mark in such an incredible way. I won't be watching it if it is renewed for another season.… Expand

    There was the hope that this would be a decent effort at a show with some integrity. The judges except for Eddie were "sophisticate" who wanted their personal style issues and typical reality show crap was great. They did not reflect a style that is functional or something working class people would agree with. Keeping Elaine on for the reality b"""ch factor was stupid.     There's nothing wrong with American Dream Builders except it feels like these design shows are becoming a TV version of Levittown.

    Dream Builders' emotional dynamic is more attuned to Celebrity Apprentice in its nightmare blueprint of clashing egos getting in the way of a job well done.

    The premise is ambitious and messily executed, as several contestants and judges are introduced without any clear metric of accomplishment or difference between the two.
