    What a joke. This MOS was 91B and was embedded with real combat arms units, like mine. They NEVER performed operations as portrayed in the show and did not possess the ability to do so.

    Have to agree with a lot of what others are saying about the show. I really wished it had taken a better or a more subtle approach with how the military is portrayed.

    Fun show to watch and interesting characters but thing is how believable is what happens in this show. It depicts a medical corps at a small base in Afghanistan and in one scene three servicemen sign out an ambulance without anyone's approval and attempt to trade medical supplies for hashish. How realistic is that?

    “68 Whiskey” won’t make anyone forget “M*A*S*H” — or even “Catch-22,” for that matter — but it tries hard to provide at least a taste of what life is like in a modern-day war zone fraught with lurking danger and, at times, death.

    68 Whiskey moves confidently into the small but mighty clique of military comedies that balance the absurdist tragedy of war with the intense emotional bonds and improvised code of ethics on the front lines. ... Chalk up another win for the new kid on cable's block.

    The pilot doesn’t even really play into the absurdity of war a la “Catch-22.” It’s unclear what “68 Whiskey” is trying to do but whatever it is, it’s not doing it well.
