Watching Richard Quest as host is like enduring an hour long British version of Gilbert Gottfried high on meth (which is not surprising given Richard's history). With the maximum amount of money guaranteed for a perfect game being at 500,000 which requires getting 500 questions correct and only 35 questions being answered in the first hour long episode what is the incentive to watch.

The opening 1 hour show featured one real contestant with a total of 22,000 or slightly above won but not guaranteed. This just after wheel of fortune gave away an actual 40,000 in less than 30 minutes. This show hopefully will not last long.

It's clear the producers of this show are trying their hardest to convince us it's a fantastic, amazing show.

But it isn't. It's terrible. It's dog **** It's slow, the commercial breaks are long, and the host is annoying, unfunny, and intrusive. Even the contestant was getting visibly tired of him.

500 Questions has a good deal of promise, with a great set and a pretty solid game that should make quiz fans happy. Even with the high degree of challenge in winning whatever the top prize is, the slow-in-comparison speed and bizarrely low cash stakes bring down the quality of this primetime quizzer.

Contrived and irritating. For people billed as "geniuses" they are not very bright and giving them 10 seconds to blurt out as many answers to a question until they get lucky with a correct response is just stupid. They bill the show as three wrong answers an you're out is false as contestants are given multiple chances to clear out wrong answers. I don't know why producers think thatContrived and irritating. I don't know why producers think that annoying British hosts are a good idea for quiz shows geared for American audiences. It didn't work for "Weakest Link" and it certainly doesn't worked here.

If people liked "Millionaire" they may like this, I for one did not.

Jeopardy is a much more honest competition and actually involves strategy and intelligence.

This is the dumbest TV game show! I can't stand it! My wife likes it... I don't know why she likes it.
I can't stand stupid English accents on game shows... especially Richard Quest's! He is so abrasive! The fake audience's reactions are such a turn off! Please get this dreadful show off the air!
I can't figure out what type of people are attracted to this game show! Such convoluted game rules!

This is a great show. Other than the host it is entertaining and a show you can watch with your family comfortably. The lack of violence and sexual is refreshing. It is good for the mind. We both really like it. Hope they carry it next season. This country is ready for a change of pace. I don't watch local channels anymore until 500 came along. Good for everyone. The show is ultimately exhausting rather than what a game show needs to be, which is mildly exhilarating.

You expect to be seeing one of the most entertaining game shows ever devised, but instead 500 Questions is just another trivia show mired in a format too convoluted to bother mastering.
