Builds on the great gameplay elements from "The Sands of Time" but lets itself down with too much backtracking and a weak script. The level design in the game is amazing, at times breathtaking and the addition of Boss battles is great.

It excels where it counts in the gunfights and driving sequences and has buckets of style.

Overall Shank 2 is a really beautifully presented game, with a sharp, distinctive art style, and mostly awesome button-bashing gameplay, let down slightly by a few odd design choices here and there.

While The Darkness was a very atmospheric, story driven shooter with an incredibly gritty artistic direction, The Darkness II is an action packed, colourful story driven shooter that ramps up the action and provides players with an incredible amount of tools to have fun with. Many players will enjoy ripping enemies apart, wielding four different kinds of weapons and, of course, beating the bad guy. To put it quite simply, The Darkness II makes you feel like a real bad-ass.

Outland is a great platformer that brings together a unique artistic visual style with well-crafted and perfect feeling gameplay. It's just a little bit of a shame that it feels a tad shallow compared to other titles on the market. Still, at 800 points, this is an absolute steal that every platforming fan should pick up.

The simple fact of the matter is Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 should have been released last year. But still, it feels a bit like we're getting the same game over and over.

The additions this year make this a worthwhile pick up, but this year more than ever I wish the game wasn't a yearly event. Although nothing new breaks the game, and with practice you'll develop an appreciation and even fondness for the new changes, it's the little flaws which indicate that perhaps EA didn't get enough time to do everything they wanted. If the game was given more time for polish on the new features, this would easily be the best FIFA since 2010.

Choplifter HD is a worthy remake and a fun addition to the arcade library. Its pick up and play gameplay will make it easy for new and old players but difficult to master and complete the game. If you're looking for a quick game of something when time is short then Choplifter HD is the type of game for that situation.

De Blob 2 is a fantastic, fun game. Its cute characters will have you giggling throughout playing, and the clever game design will have you marveling at how something pretty simple can be so engaging. There's enough variety and challenge to never leave you bored, even with the lack of features such as leader boards and online play.

If you know what you're in for then G.R.A.W. will definitely scratch your tactical shooter itch. However, if you get annoyed with fiddly controls and are not very patient when it comes to progressing through games, G.R.A.W. won't be for you.

While the graphics aren't up to what Xbox owners expectations may now be, the game still looks great and ultimately, its 'fun factor' easily lifts it up into borderline gaming greatness.

What's on offer though is the slick refinement of everything from the first 3 games, with graphics updated for the HD era and some killer online action for 16 players, twice that of PGR3.

Easily one of the more polished first person shooters available on the Xbox. I would have liked to have seen some more advanced squad control options, or options to remove the visual cues, as this, plus the level design, gives the game a very linear feel.

Kane's Wrath does well on expanding what Tiberium Wars did to benefit the strategy genre.

Assault Heroes is easily one of the best original Xbox Live Arcade titles to date; the graphics are awesome, the action is intense and the gameplay is tough but enjoyable.

Catan is an odd choice to lead the board-game charge onto the Xbox Live Arcade, but Big Huge Games have done a phenomenal job of recreating the experience on the console.

It puts its mark on the ‘next-gen' in a way that will finally have Rockstar's venerable series being measured against something else as opposed to itself.

Whilst this is Microsoft’s first venture onto the ice, it does quite a respectable job at recreating the action, speed and excitement of the game of hockey.

While not all of the additional elements worked well, such as the awkward inventory limit, fans of the series and newcomers alike will still find much to appreciate and cower in terror about in the game.

Hardcore fans will be shattered to learn they are limited to using normal and easy modes due to the glitch with the A.I. although it isn't a complete loss.

The dual analogue controls could have been a hit-and-miss affair, but EA have pulled them off and it makes for a fantastic game that focuses on realism and is a great debut for EA's hockey series on the Xbox 360.

Check out the demo if you're on the fence, but episodic gaming is here to stay, and there's little doubt Penny Arcade Adventures will be one of the best of the bunch.

Providing all the features of its predecessors and more, NHL 2K8 serves as a worthy purchase for any lover of ice hockey.

The graphics are great with plenty of detail, you are never fighting the controls, the speed effects and weapons are great and the storm drain levels rock. There are parts of this game that almost make you feel like you're in the middle of some Jerry Bruckheimer movie.

Coupled with the great collection of multiplayer modes and mini-games, there's something here for almost everyone.

I would have liked the building and object acquisition to be a little more worthwhile than it is, as that is a big aspect of the original and brings out the interior decorator and architect in all gamers.

A worthy successor to the MechAssault crown, building successfully on every single aspect of the original. However with that said, singleplayer is still incredibly weak, and two years on, this even more painfully obvious for the sequel.

It's a great game for fans of the films as it represents a high-quality and faithful replication of some defining film moments, as well as for gamers with a craving for violence, extortion and gangster shenanigans.
