The storyline is as good as - if perhaps better than - "Warcraft 3" in parts, and the various multiplayer modes and the strategy of the different sides combined with the various gods add up to a good deal of longevity.

An incredibly appealing spectacle that is ahead of the majority of other titles in the genre...The detail and flexibility of the engine allow for some captivating set pieces and cinematic cut scenes, which move the story along excellently.

Has many unique and innovative points going for it, but in the end has one too many little flaws that prevent it from being a truly great game.

Sunstorm has done a great job in varying the environments (from city rooftop to sewers to subways to space) to provide fresh visuals and interesting battlefields, and successfully integrated different styles of game play to make it more than a simple run and gun where you just plow down wave after wave of enemy.

A massive, open-ended game that allows the player to do what they want, when they want...The type of game you can play for six hours straight and not even realize it.

The force powers were definitely more enjoyable than in Jedi Knight; it's clear that a lot of thought was put into them.

The AI is about...wait...did I just call it artificial intelligence?! What I meant to say was artificial silliness just cracked me up on a couple of occasions, as I've witnessed NOD soldiers walk towards me with their backs turned, while I just kept filling their butts full of chain gun lead.

It pains me to think of how much of the game was either changed or lost since it was intended to be released on the PC back when I first saw it a couple years ago at E3...after the game's been dumbed down to play on a gamepad, I think some of that original magic was lost.

Ever had a mob of screaming soccer hooligans coming right at ya? No? Good for you. But if you ever wanted that to happen, this is the closest you can get to it without spending two months in traction!

Another problem is the forced retirement at year 2050. Who came up with this hair-brained idea? I work my butt off, building 3 courses in my career, and then at the year 2050 I am FORCED to retire? Seems rather shortsighted to me. Luckily a beta patch removes this forced retirement restriction, but it should never have been there to begin with.

This is the kind of game that made me believe in the bright future of gaming, and at the same time, strengthened my belief that we're still far off from the level of professionalism needed to boost this form of entertainment to a more prominent cultural level.

It's far and away the best third-person action game I've ever played, boasting an involving (if occasionally cheesily-told) story and pulse-pounding gameplay.

You feel like the most clever person on the planet when you're able to bring in three parts a day, slaughter a few frogs, and birth seventy Pikmin without breaking a sweat...what is there is enormously fun.

The high resolution textures seem to come alive in Return to Castle Wolfenstein; the character and monster models are among the nicest I've ever seen in a PC game...The problem with RtCW is that it borrows a little too much from the original game in terms of story, atmosphere and depth.

At times, Rogue Leader is mind-bogglingly repetitive and frustrating, but in a strange way that's one of the reasons why I like the game - it's a real challenge.

While previous Oddworld installments were relatively fast-paced, Munch's Oddysee ends up slowing things down quite a bit...a result of the character-switching mechanic. The repetitive nature of the gameplay will have action fans squirming in their seats, wondering when things are going to pick up.

Project Gotham gets harsh when you start going for gold. This game's liable to have you tearing out your hair and bawling like an infant with regularity. You'll wonder how on earth your competition managed to take that turn faster than you did, in a budget car that's far inferior to your performance-bred steel.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the game played more like a first-person shooter in the skies. In fact, any action fan comfortable with the traditional mouse and keyboard controls inherent to shooters will feel right at home piloting the Comanche.

What makes this such a compelling feature is that you actually have different sets of units, heroes and buildings for each of the epochs, translating into over 200 different combat units, structures and era-appropriate historical heroes to command your armies. To say that Empire Earth has a lot to offer is an understatement.

A great game not only because it surpasses MGS1 in terms of graphics, sound, and control, but because it offers new and innovative gameplay.

A must buy for gamers who haven't experienced Half Life before. The exclusive Decay episode, the upgraded graphics, and the new areas within Black Mesa Research Facility are a treat that PC veterans can enjoy as well.

A great RTS that is fun to play. Something refreshing in a genre full of boring clones and mediocre sequels.

Visually, the LithTech engine does a good job in powering the alien's claustrophobic wall-crawling movement and does a great job rendering the predator's many modes of vision.

A flat out brilliant game...This is another addicting game that you very well could lose sleep and miss work over (I should know, I’ve done both).

One of the best console games I have played this year. It is that good. The online gameplay is fast with no lag or hiccups.

It has enough Eye Candy to satisfy the picky 3D futuristic racing fan and an addictive quality that leaves you wanting to play “one more game” just to see if you can top your last blisteringly-fast speed.

The end-all, be-all of console action games. Period...For me GTA3 is the best action game I have ever played on a console system and I highly recommend it to adults (the intended audience of this game) who know the difference between good and evil.

This little CD is oozing with so much gaming goodness that it would be silly not to pick it up.

The game really kicks ass. While it may not be "the next big thing" in the mmorpg genre, it's a genuine (and in some cases very attractive) alternative to games like "EverQuest."

I loved it! It made the hours fly by like minutes...Once you get used to the interface and become more efficient at positioning the camera just right, you'll soon become totally addicted to this title.

If you've ever wanted a fast paced sports game that's top quality, check out NHL 2002. You could buy it just for the new commentary alone, but there are so many more reasons.

The end scene is even more anticlimactic than the one in Half-Life. Without going into spoilers, It's like you're having great sex with a chick, and just about as you get ready to launch "Apollo 5" to the Moon, she suddenly gets up, picks up the cell phone, and calls her husband to ask if he remembered to feed their 2-year-old son.

The type of game that reminds me why I do this job – the game is an absolute pleasure from start to finish.

A tad on the short side (under 20 hours), which I could overlook if some multiplayer support was included, but other than that small complaint, I thought the game was nearly flawless.

A polished product that improves, in almost every respect, on its predecessor.

With the two new character classes, fifth act, powerful new monsters, outrageous new magic items and craft system, the LoD will make you lose sleep, neglect your family’s needs and even miss work from playing it. It’s just that good.

If you can brave being part of this polish stage in exchange for being part of something that’s new and a little bit of a break from the norm, then give AO a try.

While WWP is a great game, it’s virtually nothing more than an expansion pack for "Worms Armageddon." The gameplay is exactly the same as it always was – I was hoping to see more weapons in this incarnation of Worms, but alas it was not to be.

It’s very fast paced, yet strategic at the same time – as such, it requires lightning fast decisions to be made in order to be successful. Many action gamers, as well as strategy gamers, will enjoy it.

It’s a high intensity combat game that could have pushed the genres to new heights. However, many gamers may be turned off by its long list of problems, and rightly so.

More than once, I played the game for over 8 hours in a single day. It’s the type of game that you play “just a little longer” until you realize that your wife has left you, you haven’t eaten in weeks, and you smell like an old shoe.

Visually, Tribes 2 will make you wet yourself with joy (that is, if you are lucky enough to own a fast computer) and you'll be treated to some breathtaking special effects.

After about 15-25 hours (Depending on the gamer) the game just seems to lose it’s fun factor. Sadly, many games released nowadays don’t even have 15 hours gameplay in them, let alone 15 hours of damn fun gameplay; Black and White does indeed have this.

Summoner isn’t flashy or revolutionary, nor does it try to be these things – it’s just a fun RPG with a strong story and engaging gameplay.

While Serious Sam may not reinvent the first-person shooter, Croteam did a great job of taking the genre back to its roots, making one of the most action-packed games since "DOOM."

The AI is somewhat poor and the timing puzzles get really old fast, but overall - the strategy/squad based Star Trek theme really worked out well, and for a single player adventure, ST:AT was all that and a bag of Tribbles.

What I did not expect from this game, besides its well-developed RPG foundation, is the sheer size of it. Fallout Tactics covers 3 CDs, contains 20 missions, and for the average game will take over 60 hours to complete. That is amazingly long, especially for a strategy game.

Utilizing an enhanced version of the Unreal engine complete with a custom particle system (among the other additions,) the game is quite simply breathtaking – probably one of the best visual uses of the engine to date.

The lack of saves, the hackneyed gameplay, and the frustrating controls stop Oni from being the game it could have been.

The graphics are in-freakin-credible, the sound is top-notch, the level design is beautiful, and the action is non-stop.

After playing SD for what seems like an eternity, I can confidently state that it is one of the more enjoyable RPGs I've played in a long time, even with its plentiful bounty of bugs.

Hitman suffers from horrendous pop-in with the scenery. You can’t see a tree or building in full until it is a good 50 feet in front of you. This can create a problem when there are snipers on the roofs waiting to light you up with their rifles.

I haven’t laughed so much, nor have I had so much fun playing a game in ages.
