  1. Though suffering from repetitive plot beats and thin characters, Black Adam is powered by Johnson's performance and its promise of an exciting future.
  2. Unfortunately, Cinderella lacks the specificity of Ever After and doesn’t commit to the full fantasy of Brandy’s Cinderella, either, nor does it have the charisma of Ella Enchanted.
  3. Ritchie is a prolific action director, and he leans action here, which is fine. When it's not being distractingly stylized, the action is good. But treasure hunt movies have a nerdy side that sometimes feels undervalued by this film.

While Our Little Secret passes the time just fine when Chenoweth and Lohan are butting heads, it has nothing to offer that hasn't been done better by even the most insipid of Netflix Christmas rom-coms.
  4. Venom: The Last Dance shows what happens when you let a perfectly cast actor and a director with a lot of affection for the character run wild in a world of Marvel superheroes. You get a movie that's a little weird, a lot silly, and full of fun.
  5. Despite a stellar cast, Marlowe doesn’t rise to the occasion, stumbling along without ever finding its footing.
  6. While Longing was aiming for poignancy, it unfortunately landed on preposterous.
  7. The script may be the film's rotten foundation, but no one element can take all the blame for its emptiness.
  8. Love Wedding Repeat is too cringey to be any fun and fails to deliver on its premise of multiple alternate timelines.
  9. Crisis tries its hardest to be like Traffic, but fails in creating a satisfyingly thorough world with enough high stakes or tension.
  10. Reliant on specific political clichés and a twist the audience will see coming from a mile away, Without Remorse is utterly bland and devoid of moxie.
  11. While it has a mix of fresh and familiar concepts, Protector ultimately still feels too routine to stand out from the crowd.
  12. If nothing else, Emmerich certainly knows how to create catastrophe while providing a sense of hope despite everything. Does that save Moonfall from being messy? No, but surely some will find it enjoyable regardless.
  13. Red Sonja falls short of expectations from beginning to end; it only succeeds in following in the footsteps of the 1985 flop.
  14. The only real saving grace is the cast, who end up guinea pigs in a test of how difficult it is to overcome underbaked material.
  15. There is so much that could have been done with the film’s plot and twists, but it’s never confident enough in what the story has to offer to lean into any of what might have made it thrilling.
  16. Silk Road has the makings of a gripping thriller, but it surprisingly lacks the tension required for it to work.
  17. From the opening scenes, The Woman in Cabin 10 hooks us and doesn’t let go.
  18. The beauty of a musical isn't just in the songs themselves, but the feelings they leave us with as we exit the theater. Leave One Day opts for a cheerier disposition that undermines staying power beyond its infectious tunes.
  19. While the film does win some laughs, and the third act is noticeably better than the first two, Summer Camp won't be for everyone.
  20. The movie's attempts to expand The Grudge's mythology generally don't work, and its stabs at being grittier and more realistic than the films before it are undone by its over-reliance on bloodshed and just plain unpleasant details for shock value.
  21. The revelations of the film, once they come, are admittedly disturbing. But the route to get there is paved with blandness and awkward acting.
  22. While O’Dessa has a lot of style, it doesn’t have much else. Its substance is sorely lacking, with a lot of jumbled ideas and themes that don’t come together.
  23. Easter Sunday starts off well enough before getting off track completely, too preoccupied with aspects of the story that aren't good and don’t matter, sacrificing its characters and their relationships with each other as a result.
  24. Helmed by a brilliant Bullock, The Unforgivable is a flawed retelling of a profound story, limited by plot contrivances and an unconvincing execution.
  25. Infamous has a good balance of fun thrills and compelling drama that make for an entertaining watch.
  26. Here Today finds warmth in leads Crystal and Tiffany Haddish, which then allows it to push past some tricky tonal and pacing problems.
  27. Bleeding Love remains under-written and over-directed, unable to fully justify the time it asks for. If you're wanting to see Ewan McGregor do some quality acting, there are plenty of more rewarding options.
  28. Falling For Christmas was the best comeback film for Lohan; it could have been better quality, but it is better than nothing. She's in her element, and her natural charisma is illuminated, partially by how uninteresting her costar is. The script and overall production leave much to be desired, but with how low expectations usually are, this one is okay.
  29. Its endless, unfunny humor is tiresome and obnoxious, the commentary is short-lived, and jokes related to Sam’s unpreparedness are repetitive.
