  1. Unwatchable, unbearably unfunny farce.
  2. If the devil made them all do it, he's one dull bastard.

Blood and Honey is a hundred-acre wasteland, a witless gory bore, and in the end, you’re just depressed that anyone spent time working on it.
  3. This London Fields is nothing but fallow ground. Or, to apply the metaphor that Thornton’s scribe gives to Heard’s sexed-up temptress when he first meets her, it’s a black hole — something that sucks talent, taste, light, energy and matter into maw and leaves everything stranded in a void.
  4. Whatever juice is left in the "Cop" franchise or in the once unstoppable career of Eddie Murphy peters out ignominiously in this poor excuse for a sequel.
  5. The 'roo doesn't talk, except in a dream sequence…I'm dying here.
  6. Laced with such rampant misogyny that the laughs stick in your throat.
  7. While the first movie steadily tighened its vise, the second loosens its grip through strained acting and incoherent plotting.

  8. The idea of putting these images out there at this very moment, and pimping it out as “entertainment” is, frankly, nauseating. It goes from being a crime against an art form to something a little more toxic. No. Nope. Nuh-uh. Netflix, what the hell were you thinking?
  9. Say this for the soundtrack, it drowns out the lousy dialogue.
  10. Droolingly stupid weepie. Useful tip: The movie dies way quicker than she does.
  11. Fair Game, written and directed by men, allows model Cindy Crawford to make her screen debut as Miami lawyer Kate McQueen.
  12. It feels manufactured to be suitable for mass consumption.
  13. Before the jacked-up antics get to be too much, director Tony Leondis and co-writers Erich Siegel and Mike White get in a few satiric licks at a technology we've all come to call home.
  14. A shit stain on the genre.
  15. At 87 torturous, laugh-free minutes, the film could change the most avid cat fancier into a kitty hater.
  16. Peet does it with a twinkle, finding class among the crass.

  17. With this kind of epic ineptitude -- hell, the flick is set in the year 3000 -- you go for "worst of the millennium."

  18. That generous half star rating I tacked onto this comedy abomination is all for Paris Hilton. Come on, it takes guts (or gross dim-wittedness) to appear on screen again after "House of Wax."
  19. This War of the Worlds isn’t bad or even so-bad-it’s-good. It’s a secret third thing, a hodgepodge of shoddy CGI and dead-eyed reaction shots from Ice Cube that make you feel like you can identify individual brain cells mid-death cycle.

Sure, it has a low-rent, get-high-and-watch-it-at-3-AM vibe to it, but the film's mind-numbing longueurs and its dialogue do away with any Z-movie verve one might be expecting. DiCaprio isn't too bad as a pissy kid; indeed, he seems to be the only cast member who can actually act.
  20. Even in these pandemic times, when we all hunger for escapism, this long journey to a lame ending hardly fills the bill.

The magnetism of Goggins keeps this vehicle from running out of gas.
  21. The War Is Never Over is as much about trauma and processing and empowerment — the real kind, not the bumper-sticker-slogan kind — as it about music, or a musician, or a cultural moment. What it leaves out of Lydia’s history is substituted by what it adds to understanding her story.
  22. Even with its simple set-up and at a scant 71 minutes, there’s an entire buffet for thought laid out here. Alexandrowicz may have given us the single best documentary of the year; he has undoubtedly given us one of the most vital.

Epstein and Meek’s nonfiction effort functions as a portrait of unconscionable bureaucratic wrongdoing as well as an attempt to restore the reputations of four men who suffered unjust fates in both life and death.

The visual style, free-flowing and light on talking heads, gives the film a level of authenticity that feels lived-in. The visuals do the explaining for you, allowing you to come up with your own thoughts and conclusions.

Watching Sullivan trade licks with Guy is a welcome reminder that music can transcend race and bring people together...But the movie may unsettle purists who feel that torch needs to be passed around to a more diverse crew of musicians.
  23. It’s far more effective as an indictment against media rapaciousness, as well as their treatment of the homeless and mentally unwell.
  24. The Insurrectionist Next Door is both comedy, thanks largely to the fact that Pelosi has no interest in hiding her incredulity, and tragedy, in that she locates the humanity in these people who made some horrible decisions on the basis of a loudly propagated fiction, and will be paying for the rest of their lives.
  25. This is frankly the kind of thing Netflix could and should do more of. It looks inexpensive but sharp, it doesn’t reek of sensationalism, and it doesn‘t feel like a cobbled together romp through history. It has a point and a vision worthy of its subject.
  26. No tears go by on Marianne’s part as she reminisces, though you’re a stronger person than we are if you don’t choke up at the documentary’s closing number.
