Brothers in Arms is a good start for Ubisoft WWII franchise. The drama of the story, frantic fire fights and well implemented squad command system makes other WWII shooters feel, well, just like your average shooters. Brothers in Arms is more of an authentic WWII combat experience. [May 2005, p.66]- Pelaaja (Finland)

The new Settlers has abandoned everything that used to make a good Settlers-game. The new direction has made the game into mediocre and dated RTS with an unappealing storyline. [May 2005, p.88]- Pelaaja (Finland)

Tekken 5 really has almost no faults, it’s simply the best game in the series. Perhaps the only real flaw is that it won’t convert the fans of other fighting games, if you can think of that as a flaw. [June 2005, p.50]- Pelaaja (Finland)

Kessen III contains more action than the previous two games in the series combined. Unfortunately, this mostly means constantly having to mash the square-button without much thought put into action. Strategic and tactical elements are still there, but they suffer too much from the more action-oriented game play. [June 2005, p.58]- Pelaaja (Finland)

Makers of "Halo" say that in their action games they repeat the same perfect 30 seconds over and over again. Wario Ware Touched! does the same but it needs to repeat only a few perfect seconds at a time. [May 2005, p.84]- Pelaaja (Finland)

It's a good thing that Star Fox series has returned to its space shoot 'em up roots, but why did they have to include mediocre land-action sequences in the game? Also, some other small details, like a lack of radar or a map, only ten levels and uninspiring multiplayer elements stop this from being the truly next-gen Star Fox game since "Lylat Wars." Even if the game is basically a rehash of old ideas, something this lively and stylish is well worth repeating. It’s good to have a bit of henshin a gogo amongst all the fps- and stealth action game clones. [May 2005, p.76]- Pelaaja (Finland)

Ridge Racer’s touch screen debut ain't what it’s cranked up to be. It could have been much better. As it’s now, it doesn’t utilize the DS’s capabilities in any useful or fun kinda way. [July 2005, p.77]- Pelaaja (Finland)

The card-combat mechanic does not work quite as well as it could, and the game is a bit too linear and the combat repetitive. Still, the magical union of Final Fantasy characters and Disney's different fantasy worlds give the game enough appeal and charm to keep you playing until the end. If you are not familiar with the long-running series then Mario Party 6 is definitely the game to get. It does contain plenty of new features for longtime fans as well. [May 2005, p 81]- Pelaaja (Finland)

For golf fans, Outlaw Golf 2 doesn’t offer anything besides frustration due to lacklustre controls. If you are into such a thing other games, like "Rumble Roses" and "DOA"-series, offer more in the breast- and crass-departments. [May 2005, p.80]- Pelaaja (Finland)

Alien Hominid was brilliant and inventive on net browsers. On consoles, it loses much of its charm. Silly graphics and straightforward violence entertain for awhile, but the idea does not translate well enough into a full console game. [June 2005, p.66]- Pelaaja (Finland)

Baten Kaitos is again a proof that on the GameCube rpg-front, it's quality over quantity. Even the horrible voice acting cannot hold back down this grand epic. [May 2005, p.91]- Pelaaja (Finland)

It’s quite hard to give a score to this collection. All the games are simply dated and don’t offer anything to modern gamers. However, for the fans it’s a trip down memory lane and the collection earns it’s place in a collectors game collection. [May 2005, p.74]- Pelaaja (Finland)

Otogi 2 is an ultra stylish, straightforward action game that relies heavily on its attractive visuals and Japanese mysticism. It might not be as original as the first game, but as whole, it's better. [May 2005, p.71]- Pelaaja (Finland)

In many ways, Boktai 2 is very similar to the first game. There's just enough new additions to keep players interested, even if the difficulty level is a bit too high. The concept of the game is still charming and this time the ability to deposit solar power in the bank makes it a bit less dependant on your real life surroundings. Maximum Impact is a really poor showing for an anniversary game in the series. Visually the game is poor and the implementation of the third dimension doesn’t add that much to the fighting mechanic. [May 2005, p.74]- Pelaaja (Finland)

For a single player, Monster Hunter doesn’t offer much. It’s designed to be played together with other people over the Internet. Clunky controls and the wonky camera system make it hard to get into, as does the frustrating amount of menus you have to wade through to simply get into the multiplayer part. As a tank simulator, T-72 is a ground breaking game in the genre. Not only because games like it are rare, but because of its unusual setting, and the highly unforgiving realism. The difficulty level can be too much for even the veterans of simulator games. Playing the game and commanding your tank is quite easy. The real challenge is to learn the secrets of modern tank warfare. And unlike many other simulators, T-72 doesn’t forgive if you make mistakes, but that also makes it very rewarding to play, when you succeed. [Sept 2005, p. 75]- Pelaaja (Finland)
