Prince of Persia: The Sands of the Time has maintained its charm and, even with all the necessary distinctions, seems to benefit from high-definition remastering. Thanks to the graphics it appears more colorful and clean, beautiful to behold, and in general we like the idea of rediscovering a great game.

Prince of Persia: Two Thrones is a successful mix of its two predecessors: the title Ubisoft takes some of the best aspects of gameplay from both, blending them together to create, with the addition of more new elements, a structure of game effectively and efficiently. Even after many years.

It's a shame that this porting of Max & The Magic Marker is the most poor version so far. Despite the developers' efforts, the small screen of the iPhone makes impossible to draw accurate lines and shapes. The iPad version is slightly better, but it still has some problems with the controls.

Even if it's possibly the least impressive showcase for the Nintendo 3DS technology, Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars is a great turn-based strategy game, and definitely one of the best titles in the whole launch line-up.

On the one hand, Bionic Commando: Rearmed 2 is visually pleasing, with some nice remixes and a gameplay based on exploration rather than combat (just like the original Bionic Commando), nice boss fights and some funny dialogues. On the other hand the game is too linear and simple, the controls aren't accurate and the local co-op multiplayer is mediocre.

Lord of Arcana tries to follow in the footsteps of Monster Hunter, but without success. The plot, which revolves around a magical stone and the "chosen one" who must retrieve it, fails to deliver, while the controls make cumbersome and uninspiring both the exploration and the combat.

After two Harry Potter games, Trivial Pursuit and Create, developers of EA Bright Light confirmed to be anything but brilliant. The entire management of the three dimensions in Spare Parts is terrible and makes the exploration of the stages "slippery" and cumbersome, with hundreds of invisible barriers and obstacles. When it comes to fighting, things get even worse due to some imprecise collisions and a lack of variety. The online multiplayer is also poorly implemented.

DCUO, as first console-MMORPG, can be considered a good start; it's basically a Hack'n'slash, with an interesting history and RPG elements, but some missions are repetitive and there are a lot of graphic bugs. However, the monthly major updates promised by Sony On Line justify the subscription, especially for DC Fans.

MotorStorm: Apocalypse has to deal with some contingency situations (the earthquake in Japan and the consequent delayed release) that inevitably created problems, especially in terms of online content. The single player campaign, however, is long enough thanks to the three different "chapters", thirteen vehicle classes and more than thirty races placed in nine different locations. The on-screen disaster is convincing both in terms of visuals (except for the color palette, too bright) and gameplay, with scenarios that change dynamically between a lap and the other.

With Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12, the EA Sports series returns to the App Store with improved graphics, new modes and the same gameplay that made the previous episode so enjoyable for all the golf enthusiasts out there. What a pity there's no online multiplayer.

Double Dragon delivers a good feeling of impact, nice graphics and music, and also a large number of unlockables. What a pity the touch controls don't work as they should, making the whole experience cumbersome and frustrating.

Nintendogs + Cats is not so different from Nintendogs. It has cats and 3D, but they don't change the gameplay; this means it is still the king of casual games, but, this time, it feels a little less "fresh".

All in all, Rift is the first real alternative to the best theme park MMORPGs on the market, WoW and LotRO. And this is without any doubt, a good thing!

The best 3DS game on the console launch is also a title that doesn't really take any advantages from the 3DS exclusive features. Super Street Fighter IV is a fantastic achievement and a gorgeous adaptation, even if the controls are unable to replicate the original arcade experience.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell 3D is a good handheld conversion of the classic Chaos Theory: unfortunately, the multiplayer, online or not, is nowhere to be seen, and the 3D effect, albeit good, doesn't seem to make up for the loss. It's a rather good single player launch title, but you'd want to concentrate on more complete titles.

The latest Monkey Ball is back with a brilliant and pleasant 3D graphics, but the game suffers for its short longevity and not so funny mini-games: SEGA missed a big opportunity to release the best primate-in-a-ball game.

Angry Birds Rio is the new episode of the famous Rovio saga, dedicated to the Fox movie Rio; it's just another Angry Birds, with the same gameplay and same birds, with a new background (Rio de Janeiro) and a little graphic boost.

The 3rd Birthday is not a true Parasite Eve sequel: it does not continue the original story of the saga, and it also has a gameplay different from the predecessors. But the same is a great action game, with lots of customization options, a good control system and some good RPG elements that enhance the game.

Almost a franchise reboot, Pokémon Black & White is your ultimate Pokémon experience. Overall better than previous generations by any means, this new installment manages to inspire on veteran players a sense of wonder and awe gone missing years ago. The new adventure flows better and is much more intriguing and challenging but of course you are not going to change your mind if you hate Pikachu and friends.

Even if it steals many ideas from other platforms, Kami Retro is a pretty fresh game, thanks to its colourful graphics and a catchy chiptune music. Unfortunately it would have deserved much depth and polish, especially with its awful and wrong controls. Anyway, Pawprint Games' last effort is still a fun game, recommended for the old platforms lovers.

Mototrialz is an interesting racing game, a Trial simulator with a lot of tracks and a very good level design; there are just some problems with the physic engine, particularly during the falls from the bike, but it could be considered a good purchase for all the fans.

In The Witcher: Versus our goal is to create a sequence of attack and defense that the opponent can't overcome. To achieve this we need to be lucky, no doubt about it, but also wise in selecting the right abilities to improve and the right items to buy. And the game is all about abilities and items.

Even if it's very challenging and technically great, Rainbow Six: Shadow Vanguard is ruined by chaotic and inaccurate controls. To be clear, gunfights are amusing and aiming with the gyro is easy and fun. Another problem of the game is the crowded GUI, with a lot of icons that invade the screen, while teammates and enemies suffer of a terrible AI.
