Mario Kart Tour is the best exploration of the franchise in the worst-case scenario. Nintendo has bet for a vibrant and appealing experience both in playability and in visual terms, but they are telling the payers that they are destined to pay if they want to get the best score in every single track; unless you are lucky enough to get that 1% chance pilot. Bad «game as a service» design, but they are still on time to reverse the situation by being less aggressive with the in game payments.

Castle of Illusion is not the same than twenty years ago. Has some improvements like 3D platforms events or magic visuals, but is also so irregular in level design, poor in content and with some issues in Mickey's control.

Destiny: Dark Below offers more content, but not better content. The best addition is the new raid with its varied mechanics, also the strike sounds good, but this DLC is poor in terms of story missions.

As a Thief, it is a huge disappointment. The extraordinary map design of the series is gone, the story is forgettable and the reboot of Garrett and The City really misjudged. While entertaining as a stealth game, its sins are bigger than its virtues.

This atypical reinvention of the classic tale of revenge and redemption in the context of the classic samurai battles could have it's own artistic values, but its flaws makes this Afro Samurai game less interesting than it could be in the end. Samuel L. Jackson's voice, RZA's music and the cell-shading artistic, bloody aspect cannot stand a repetitive gameplay too focused on hacking and slashing while using the 'focus' mode and Final Bosses don't do their work, either.

Lucas Arts can't fill the high expectations for his awaited game, presenting a product that contains the great idea of incarnate Darth Vader's secret apprentice and a fantastic visual representation of the use of The Force, but that fails victim of a repetitive level structure, plenty of bugs and a lack of real incentives to play it again when the player completes the 6 hours of insatisfied entertainment that it offers. Only recommended to the Star Wars fans for the script and the events included on it, despite all of the new characters cant compete with the Jedi and Sith introduced in the movies.

After a dragon apocalypse, there are just two people able to recover the world we were used to live in. EarthNight is so unique and beautiful both in the visual side and with their chiptune soundtrack; it also makes you feel good thanks to a clever roguelike design, but the game feels so short and limited as the game does not give the player enough time to breathe and thing: is too (too) fast when battling with the dragons. Despite its flaws, the endless runner subgenre finds here a good new contender to pay attention to.

PES is starting to show clear signs of weakness, its technology is outdated, stuck in last generation efforts, and that is affecting gameplay too. Lots of features are gone, including official licenses, which gives a poor general feeling as a package. All this has left PES way behind its big rival FIFA in many fields, lincluding fun factor, something PES was usually king of not that long ago.

The Wheelman is a fusion between the sandbox and the race genre. Featuring ideas taken from games like Driver, Need for Speed and GTA, Vin Diesel is the main figure of the staff between the game. Controlling Milo Burik, a sort of undercover cop, we´ll travel to Barcelona to see what´s happening there. We´ll never know which is our real objective, and the plot lacks depth and connection. Racing through Barcelona, we found a decent game that has a mix of driving and shooting. Pack this with a fair graphic engine and you have a title that performs well but is not at the level of the best.

The years have passed and Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon returns with little improvements to our Switch and PS4 platforms. The rogue-like genre has better games on this generation, but the game can appeal to the Final Fantasy fans anyway.

THQ assures that Homefront tries to be something different in the FPS genere, but it's just another copy & paste from the Call of Duty series. Only the multiplayer modes, which have their own gameplay style, are the highlights of a game with a repetitive and short campaign, along with many features that need improving.

Nothing new and few different points of view. The Worms return to Wii and PSP to face their island custom with other online players. Again, up to four players can have fun in these traditional and caricatured battles.

Gods Will Fall is a fresh and original new approach on action RPG and roguelite genres, but after a few hours it becomes too repetitive. However, the first steps are surprising and visually convinces with a very personal artistic design.

The Plane Effect is a narrative experience with jagged puzzles and rough control. Even so, it presents an oppressive universe that is attractive and encourages us to discover more about its twisted plot.

Bodycount is a great idea for an FPS, but in the end it's not so neatly done. The AI is bad, its visuals need more polish and it gives you the feeling that you are repeating the same thing again and again; all these flaws are a burden to an amazingly fun gameplay. Also, its multiplayer is extremely lacking in game modes.

Dark Void has a generic and tedious part with the third person shooter levels but it is almost as solid in the other part: the jetpack areas. Poor use of the Unreal Engine 3, last generation visuals and the deficient AI unfortunately hurt this new project.

As the third installment in the series, Hell's Highway does a great job recreating the atmosphere and surroundings featuring Dutch's Operation Market Garden in the WW2. Despite the core mechanics remain untouched, this combined shooter with some sort of tactical component feels somehow repetitive over the missions, misled on the plot and definately could use a little more polish on its technical side. Overall entertaining but could be improved.

Vaporum is a well-crafted throwback that fans of the genre will surely enjoy. It doesn't do much to update a classic formula, but there is enough there to please a great group of players.

Take the style, universe and chicken-esque twisted sense of humour of Fable, re-imagine and cross it with Castle Crashers & Fat Princess, add 2D stunning artwork and you have this Fable Heroes. It's a shame than the Gold Fever in-game is more important than the hack 'n slash mechanics, something that can cause a feeling of boredom in some players. But in cooperative, it's an ode to the extreme competition for gold pieces. Happy Pals joined together to combat evil criatures? Not in this game.
