This is a palate cleanser of a game, and if treated as such, not such a bad one at that.

It’s a shame that Punch Club isn’t more hands-on in combat, but for the most part, it’s a pretty compelling concept.

Overall, the endless levels, the engaging challenges, and the adorable aesthetic all make Little Broken Robots worth the free download for any puzzle fan.

Luckily, even though Jetpack Fighter suffers from an energy crisis, the gameplay experience is good enough to warrant a strong recommendation.

Gnomium is not a bad word game if you’re willing to sit down and spend time with it. In fact, word game veterans may get some satisfaction out of doing exactly that.

It strikes a nice balance between making references to the show and being a somewhat simplified “Gotta Cath ‘Em All!” homage.

Traffic Rider is an exciting racing game that while the adrenaline rushes to be had early on fade over time, the game still offers plenty of things for players to work towards, without limiting their ability to obtain those items in any obstinate way.

Gods of Olympus is an easy recommendation for fans of base-building games looking for something a little different.

On that note, if you’re looking for bright and cheery match-three title, I’d recommend Scrubby Dubby over Candy Crush Jelly Saga. But if you’re a sugar-crushing fanatic who’s hungry for everything the Candy Crush universe has to offer, Jelly Saga won’t rot your insides.

It’s deep enough to make you want to play for a long time, but instead it’s casual gamers that will glean the most benefit, being able to dip in and out for a fight or two.

While I’m not sure how long the addiction will last, Color Switch is clearly my pick for Game of the Day. And by “the day,” I mean “all. day. long. just one more try I almost got past that last one just gimme one more minute GAHHHHH…”

Gods of Rome leaves much to be desired. It’s a good idea crammed into a cookie-cutter mobile game mold that is just too small for it to work well. Everything it offers has been done before, and done better, in other mobile fighting games.

Just like the original, Badland 2 is an easy recommendation. It’s stylish, sleek, challenging, and most importantly: it’s fun.

The gameplay is a tried-and-true obstacle runner, but it’s the almost-impossible difficulty, well-designed levels, and the treat of getting to watch the audio and video work together to deliver a surprisingly energetic performance that really kept me hitting the replay button.

Scrubby Dubby Saga is a cute and addictive distraction that’s perfect for the bus — or the bathtub, if you’re one of those people that like to risk everything.

It is simple, poignant, and horrifying. Be warned, the story is one of psychological torture and manipulative terrorizing. But it is a privilege to experience. Enjoy your stay.

I still don’t think that Episode 4 quite measures up to the very first, and like Episodes 2 and 3, it feels rather short, but it makes for a satisfying conclusion to an interesting story.

Katy Perry fans and those interested in the music business alike will likely find a reason to stick around and invest a few dollars, but everyone else (especially impatient gamers) will want to opt for something meatier, even if it’s just the superior Kim Kardashian: Hollywood.

You might be tempted to play through most of Rust Bucket’s Puzzle Mode before diving into the Endless Dungeon, but I wouldn’t recommend it. You can figure out most of what you’ll need to survive after only a few levels, and the constant appearance of obnoxiously long ads might make it unbearable if you have to deal with too many of them. Instead, play a few puzzles and then jump straight into the Endless Dungeon – it’ll be a lot more enjoyable that way.

It’s an intriguing concept that’s reasonably original compared to so many other adventure games, even if it doesn’t always quite hit the spot. You’ll need a dark sense of humor to fully appreciate it, but it’s certainly memorable. Just expect to be frustrated at times by that picky attitude to where you tap.

Country Friends offers players much the same sort of experience they could find elsewhere in other farm management games. You plant, harvest, feed, collect, sell, and repeat. These are the ABC’s of the genre. Where Country Friends stands out is with its visuals, and how well it appeals to player’s emotions by pasting real emotion on the faces of the critters they’ll manage.

That’s a shame, especially when The Incorruptibles - Knights of the Realm is so nearly the Age of Empires game we’ve all been waiting for. As it stands it’s a reasonable substitute, but it remains merely a substitute that you dip into for a spare ten minute session rather than something that will grab you for a significant length of time.

Maestria is a game in the eye of the storm that is the mobile games industry. While most other mobile games feature a flurry of in-app purchases, flashy rewards, and larger-than-life personalities crammed into tiny characters, Maestria is there, a little off to the side, gently ringing its bells, giving you a break from all the bluster roaring by.
