If you’re looking for a new endless game and think that going up sounds like a nice change from going right to left, you won’t be disappointed with Flyro. What the game lacks in style, it makes up for in stuff, and good old-fashioned fun gameplay.

Halfbrick is one of only a handful of developers that seem to impress with every release on the App Store, and Jetpack Joyride is no exception. Is it yet another endless survival game on the App Store? Sure. But it's one that's brimming with personality, challenge, and a machine gun that you wear on your back to fly. If that doesn't say second amendment, I don't know what does.

A great mobile game, and boasts a shining production value that most developers could only dream about.

Still, as with the earlier releases it shows plenty of reverence for the movies, and is easily the best mobile LEGO game I’ve played to date. I think those who’ve yet to play any version before will definitely find a lot to like (or even love) here.

Like Bob munching diligently away at his fruit, this is a game best consumed in small doses – a level or two at a time, reveling in the challenge and complexity of each stage.

Badland is a frequently clever and always gorgeous side-scroller for iOS. It has some issues in level pacing, and the physics simulation has that inherent quirk of sometimes acting in unexpected ways, but they are issues quickly forgiven in the moments when Badland truly soars.

Cryptract isn’t particularly original, but it’s a well-constructed SRPG with a fair gacha system and tons of content. But it’s the game’s strong sense of narrative momentum that distinguishes it from its genre stablemates.

But even though Dark Manor suffers from some needless online restrictions and early connectivity issues, once you’re actually able to get going on your hunt and start building up your haunted mansion, then the game becomes an absolute blast.

It’s the kind of game you’ll chip away at – occasionally completing a few levels in a row before getting stuck all over again for a while longer.

It’s not too hardcore and not too casual, so just like that girl in the bears’ house said, it’s just right.

When it comes to combat sims, you'll be hard-pressed to do better than Backyard Monsters: Unleashed. It's got all the right parts in the right order, and it doesn't force microtransactions on you at any point.

The combination of exploration and building meshes well in Eat Eat Hooray! and gives the game a good deal of personality and character.

Sure I’ve got some minor quibbles about Miles & Kilo, but the game as a whole is plenty enjoyable. The slight but appreciated variety it offers is nice, it doesn’t treat players like infants, and it manages to be tough without resorting to frustrating punishment. All in all, it’s not a bad place to get marooned on.

But nitpicks aside, Bik is otherwise a charming adventure game throwback and well worth a play for fans of the genre.

You'll likely play it frequently and often without thinking. Skipping Stone is the kind of game you play when you have five minutes to spare and need something to occupy your hands. Given its outrageously affordable price, this makes it a definite must buy.

Bottle Cap Blitz is a slick little timewaster that doesn't try to be anything more complicated than it is, and instead caters to those who are looking for a trusty app to spend five or twenty minutes with on the commute to work or while sitting on the throne. It does its job, and makes bottle cap tossing pretty darn fun.

Slick and simple, and at times, fun that's bordering frenetic. Despite the lack of diversity in gameplay and sound, as well as few new challenges introduced throughout, the game's an easy-to-pick-up diversion that tests your multitasking ability.

Great fun for pocket gamers.

Of course it’s only natural to expect some form of time-based gating when dealing with a free-to-play game. And as far as I’m concerned Heroes of Destiny does a great job of keeping those gates from becoming a huge problem. It’s full of loot and characters to acquire and upgrade, so there’s plenty of reason to keep playing for quite a while. And of course it’s fun to play. There’s always that.

While virtual controls are still a compromise I'm not completely comfortable with, Kung Fu Rabbit sweetens the deal with level design that makes sense for the platform.

It may be hard for Fable Age to jump out at gamers already worn on similar games, and if so, that would be a real shame. This is easily one of the better choices in the genre.

Aiko Island is a fun little game that contains an insane amount of content in a very attractive package. Its vast quantity of puzzles, combined with excellent production values, will keep fans of the genre entertained for quite some time.

It's certainly fun. But without much of a game there and no way to enjoy it single player, you really need to know what you're getting into less you be disappointed in what you find. That being said if your gaming does meet these criteria, Fingle is truly unique and definitely worth giving a try.

There’s an awful lot here to like. If you’re a fan of old fashioned leapers then you’re going to be in your element here. And if you’re not, well there’s enough new stuff going on that you’re likely going to leave with a smile on your face as well.

Space Grunts isn’t the most original roguelike game in town, but it offers a decent challenge while remaining friendly for newcomers.

The game is a wonderful take on the Air Hockey concept, with tons of action-packed twists every way you turn, and that frantic addictiveness of a great arcade game. The environmental hazards and power-ups are exciting and unique, and I don’t think I’ll ever look at a regular old game of Air Hockey quite the same again!

Except for occasional crashes and the waiting you’ll need to do if you ever have all of your toys wiped out, there are few things not to like about Toy Rush.

Space Marshals 2 is a worthy sequel, one full of panache and swagger, and if you like your gaming on the go to have a little more to it than popping bubbles or squishing pigs, then you’re going to lap it up.
