Playing around with the customisation tools gave me the biggest shock in gaming since the beginning of The Last of Us. The customisation is insane. You can really do anything. This is more than Fallout 4 level of crazy facial manipulation. It is on par with Saints Row – and they only do it for a laugh. Whilst it doesn’t exactly add to the gameplay, I found it incredibly fun and spent ages making myself and my friends just for the sheer thrill of doing so.

For anyone looking for a ridiculous game that is loads of fun, I wholeheartedly recommend There’s Poop in my Soup. I’m serious. It’s well worth the cheap price on Steam.

After playing [Plantera] obsessively for a few hours, I’ve got to the point where I don’t feel like I’m even needed.

The game still functions well and the tactical gameplay is still solid as ever but retains the annoyances of the old systems.

After what felt like my hundredth attempt, I found myself wondering why someone would create a game that was so difficult from the very start that their players couldn’t even enjoy the rest of the game. I would have recommended that they ease the player into the game allowing them to get used to the speed and the obstacles that they would encounter gradually instead of all at once.

UnderDread has a few things that make it enjoyable, but more things that make it tedious. Whether Bigzur are experiencing such issues because of the crossover between iOS and PC, I don’t know. Even if it was released on another platform, I think they jumped the gun a bit on this one. Had I reviewed this game as an Early Access product I would have been more understanding about the negatives, but as it is a fully released, purchasable game, I’ve had to give my opinion without a safety net, and it is a damned shame.

Nothing will prepare you for the sheer joy however that is your ability to manipulate time; not only because it’s a great gameplay tool, but also because of the gorgeous visual effects that it brings to the table and how it enables you to affect the game’s world.

More than just a case of survival, Sheltered pushes you to grow and eventually thrive, and the moment your little unit starts to become somewhat self-sufficient, you’ll feel a real swell of pride.
