If you really hate someone, then gift this to them on Steam but if not, then don’t bother. I wasted seven hours of my life playing this so you don’t have to.

If you are looking for an excellent 16-bit fighter game then look no further than Punch Club as it’s a hell of a lot of fun to play and sink some hours into.

Echoes of Aetheria is a surprisingly dense and engaging title, despite its visual simplicity. The throwback to old-style RPGs brings on a sense of nostalgia whilst remaining fresh and unique, with a deep storyline and thoroughly fleshed out characters to bring the game to life. Combat is varied and challenging, and crafting the right items can be a gamechanger.

Sébastien Loeb Rally Evo is a game that exceeds expectations. It never fully outshines the competition, but it does enough on its own to make it worth your attention.

If you're looking for an excellent neon filled twin stick shooter with awesome techno beats, you're not going to find it here and you’d be better off playing Geometry Wars or Resogun on PS4 (if you want something more original), but if you've played them all and you want more, then get this on sale as it is still a fun title.

An excellent expansion of one of history’s most prestigious franchises. Capcom have addressed the weaknesses and redesigned the combat for the next generation, and introduced a small cast of new characters who should quickly become as memorable as your Blankas and your E.Hondas of old...Street Fighter V is the best fighting game available on the PlayStation 4 and the PC, and easily surpasses what the Xbox One has to offer. Street Fighter is back on top.

Abyss Odyssey: Extended Dream Edition is a game that has lots of great ideas, but is often restricted by technical limitations. There's fun to be had though.

With an aggravating protagonist and a messy structure, Rise of the Tomb Raider does not manage to bring Lara back to her full glory. Nevertheless, this game improves a lot in comparison to the prequel, and provides with uncountable moments of thrill and awe, particularly when in terms of puzzles and architecture.

An industry supergroup brings together their experience to tell an engaging narrative in a beautiful world. Firewatch explores love and commitment through two of the most authentic videogame characters I've seen. A simply wonderful game.

A huge roster of very different characters, and not even poor soundbites can detract from the overall package. Fans of Marvel and LEGO alike will enjoy the heck out of everything this has to offer.

Defunct's way of conveying the sense of motion and fluidity works great with the control and management of the robot's position. However, its simplicity and strange objective design can present some drawbacks.

As a shmup, it will provide ample challenge for everybody, but even if you find it teeth-grindingly tricky in the early goings, the high production values and the interesting framing device will keep your interest rapt.

Bombshell doesn’t seem to have gone down well with other critics, but I had a blast. Solid shooting backs up what I found to be an engaging gameplay loop. By no means the best twin stick shooter around, I had fun during the 8 hours I spent with it, and that’s enough for me.

A casual fighter that puts fun before difficulty, and tries to be approachable rather than technical. While not an ideal starting point for someone new to Naruto, I don’t doubt it will be loved by long time fans.

Euro Fishing provides a way to enjoy lake fishing for those who either don’t have water nearby, don’t fancy sitting by a lake for hours providing food for midges, or just wish to enjoy some off season virtual piscatrial pursuits. There are glitches that can annoy, but they don’t destroy totally the relaxing atmosphere and challenges the game brings.

Cityconomy’s mix of RPG elements make it resemble a different kind of game than the one it actually is. It is something that simply doesn’t work, as it pulls you to two different trains of thought.

A unique take on the turn based shooter, and a fun character-driven space adventure. As a 3DS title this game is flying below the radar for now, but upon its larger release, I can see this game picking up a lot of steam. After the jump from Dig to here, who knows where Image & Form will take us next.

While carrying the same improvements to the resolution and artwork as seen in last years Resident Evil re-release, Resident Evil Zero still cannot escape its status as the weakest of the original Resident Evil games. A retread through scenarios already set in previous entries, it brings no redeeming features of its own.

A basic job but a good one nonetheless, if you need a strategy game that isn't quite as intensive as Civilization but is gripping nonetheless, this'll hit the spot.

Not detailed enough for a simulator and not fast paced enough for an action adventure. Coast Guard is a game that needs to decide what it wants to be.

A more than competent puzzler, that does well enough to never leave you confused at what to do next. Matched with a good control setup and pleasing aesthetics, Nightmares from the Deep should be on your list if you’re into the hidden item/puzzle combo games.

Derby Kings won’t blow you away but it might help whittle down a long train journey or give you something to do while in the queue at the post office. In the end isn’t that the true purpose of a mobile game?

Age of Charlemagne is a great way to improve on a Total War engine that sorely needed extra testing and bug-cleaning. Tight, attractive and challenging, it's the perfect way to prepare for the upcoming Total War: Warhammer but also a good DLC in its own right.
